In their own words
Fanatical
Fanatical is a web marketplace, with a Chrome extension, for digitally delivered games and other products. It sells officially licensed games, bundles, books, comics, software and eLearning products. The store lists more than 16,000 digital games from over 1,800 publishers. Bundles can be build-your-own, curated, tiered or mystery, and some increase savings as more games are selected. Purchases arrive instantly as a product key or, for some games, a keyless activation link; Fanatical does not ship physical products. Keys are unique, redeemable once and mainly activate on Steam, while some products require platforms such as Epic, GOG, Rockstar or Bethesda. The Game Finder filters by genre, playstyle and theme. Its Chrome extension compares prices, shows deals and coupons, and adds a selected game to a Fanatical cart. Fanatical is based in Rugeley, Staffordshire, England, and offers global access, conditional refunds within 14 days and in-house support.
IndieGala
IndieGala is a digital distribution platform and game development studio with a PC game store. The store offers sales, Steam keys, bundles, freebies, and giveaways; the company page says it has over 7,000 titles from indie and AAA publishers. A free plan is available, and independent developers have had access to its free distribution platform since 2019. For players, the beta GalaClient brings showcase and freebie library games together to discover and play. It can install and run owned games, organize and update the library, and launch installed single-player games offline. The client currently supports Windows, with Linux and macOS described as coming soon. Developers can use the galaK command-line tool to upload builds, compress and optimize folders for downloads, and manage update patches without integrating the tool into their apps. A game can have up to three depots, one for each of Windows, Linux, or macOS. The store accepts payment methods including Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum. IndieGala says it collects account, purchase, usage, device, and browsing information.
