In their own words
Fareclock
Fareclock is a workforce platform for time tracking, attendance, scheduling, multi-site coordination, and payroll calculations. Employees can clock in through smartphones or kiosks, with verification by facial recognition, PIN, QR code, or NFC tag. Mobile clock-ins and clock-outs can be recorded offline and synced when a device reconnects. GPS tracking and geofencing let administrators control where employees clock in; Premium adds live GPS and breadcrumb history. The scheduling tools cover shifts, pay-rate adjustments, and overtime rules. Its payroll calculator handles standard hours, overtime, pay rates, and job-based pay, while reports cover hours, job costing, labor costs, and overtime. Administrators can assign jobs and cost codes to track time against projects or phases. Fareclock lists Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows access. There is no free plan, but a 30-day trial is available. Annual pricing starts at $1.38/user/mo; Pro is listed at $1.65 per user per month plus an $11.00 base fee, billed monthly, and Premium at $2.50 per user per month plus a $17.00 base fee, billed monthly.
Werx
Werx is contractor management software for trade contractors, covering work from estimates through final payment. Users can create itemized or proposal estimates for clients to approve online, manage AIA-style G702/G703 pay applications, schedules of values and retainage, and track budget-to-actual costs and profitability by cost code. It also supports time-and-material invoicing with labor and material tracking. Werx syncs in both directions with QuickBooks Online on every plan; QuickBooks Desktop is not supported. Customers can pay invoices by credit card or ACH through Stripe. The iOS and Android Field App supports time tracking, Extra Work Authorizations and customer signatures; a full mobile version is described as coming soon. Werx is available on the web, iOS and Android, and is aimed at small-to-midsized contractors, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, landscaping and remodeling businesses. Month-to-month plans cost $49.00 per month for 10 active projects, $89.00 for 20, or $119.00 for unlimited active projects. Inactive projects do not count toward the limit. There is no free plan, but a 14-day trial requires no credit card.
