In their own words

Faro

Faro is a free, MIT-licensed desktop client for file transfer, remote shells and storage across servers and cloud services. It supports SFTP, FTP, FTPS, SSH, S3-compatible storage, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage, WebDAV and HTTP(S), plus Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and Box through browser-based OAuth. File tools include dual-pane browsing, drag-and-drop transfers, directory comparison, continuous folder sync and editing remote files locally. Disk-usage exploration and fleet search by name or content extend its management tools. The standalone faro-cli reuses saved GUI profiles for file operations, synchronization, differences, searches and command execution. Agent Bridge can expose authenticated sessions to Claude Code or other MCP agents through localhost, with opt-in sessions, command approval by default and audit logging. Remote Faro Agent connections use a Noise handshake with X25519 and ChaCha20-Poly1305, pin peer keys and follow the controlled machine’s execution and file-access policy. HTTP(S) sources are read-only. Downloads include macOS, Windows and Linux installers. Builds are unsigned, and macOS builds are not notarized.

FTP Rush

FTP Rush is a free client for file transfers and cloud storage services. It supports FTP, FTPS, SFTP, WebDAV, Wing FTP Web Client, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Amazon S3. It can move files between servers using different protocols, with the local computer serving as a bridge. Transfer tools include synchronization, scheduling, automation, and C# scripting with documented interface functions for custom tasks. The interface supports multiple connection tabs and drag-and-drop transfers. HTTP and SOCKS5 proxy support, bookmarks, file filters, skip and allow lists, and FTP folder caching are also included. FastUDP is designed for high-bandwidth, high-latency networks; the maker says it accelerated HTTPS transfers by up to 30 times in its transoceanic test cases. FTP Rush is described as freeware that can be unzipped and run without installation. Listed downloads include Windows, portable Windows, Linux, and Mac OS. The standard Windows version requires .NET Framework 4.6.2 or later. The listed v3.6.7 release is dated 29 June 2026.
