Overview

Make supports a path from a prompt to a prototype rather than stopping at a static screen. Users can start from scratch or bring a frame or component from Figma Design, then refine the result visually, edit its code, or prompt again. That combination gives designers and developers different ways to shape an idea, though the prompt-credit model makes iteration less predictable than a fixed allowance of generations would.

Prototypes can connect to real content or API data and can be shared with a team or published publicly. That makes Make useful for exploring how an interface behaves with realistic inputs, not just how it looks. It also supports clickable prototypes, sketch or image input, custom components, real-time collaboration, and ZIP export.

Key features

Prompt-to-prototype workflow: Generate wireframes, flows, dashboards, and apps, then refine and test the interactive result. This is a better fit for exploring a product experience than for producing a final interface in one pass.
Visual and code editing: Users can choose visual refinement, direct code changes, or another prompt. The choice helps accommodate different working styles, but code editing may not suit teams that want to stay entirely in a visual workflow.
Data-connected prototypes: Backend integration can bring in real content or API data, which helps make tests more representative than placeholder-only screens.
Connectors and custom servers: Organization and Enterprise members can use vetted partner MCP connectors such as Notion, Asana, Linear, GitHub, and Atlassian. Organization members can also connect custom MCP servers, including private internal tools, subject to organization settings. These options make higher-tier access more relevant for teams working across internal systems.
Variable AI-credit use: Prompt costs depend on model, task complexity, and context volume. Monthly credit totals therefore set a ceiling, not a dependable number of iterations.

Pricing

Make is freemium. Starter has no price stated and includes 150 AI credits per day and 500 per month. That is a useful entry point, but the monthly cap matters for sustained work. Paid plans start at 16.00 USD per month per user, with seat type, billing term, and credit allowance varying by plan.

Plan	Price and billing	AI credits	Best fit
Starter	No price stated	150/day; 500/month	Occasional exploration
Professional Full seat	16.00 USD per month, billed Monthly	3,000/month	Regular design and prototype work
Professional Dev seat	12.00 USD per month, billed Monthly	500/month	Developers needing a lower-credit seat
Professional Collab seat	3.00 USD per month, billed Monthly	500/month	Collaborators with modest credit needs
Organization Full seat	55.00 USD per month, billed annually	3,500/month	Organizations needing the full-seat allowance
Organization Dev seat	25.00 USD per month, billed annually	500/month	Organization developers
Organization Collab seat	5.00 USD per month, billed annually	500/month	Organization collaborators
Enterprise Full seat	90.00 USD per month, billed annually	4,250/month	Enterprise teams needing the largest stated allowance
Enterprise Dev seat	35.00 USD per month, billed annually	500/month	Enterprise developers
Enterprise Collab seat	5.00 USD per month, billed annually	500/month	Enterprise collaborators

The lower-cost Dev and Collab seats carry 500 credits per month, compared with 3,000 for a Professional Full seat; they suit people who need access but not the larger stated allowance. Organization and Enterprise Full seats raise that allowance to 3,500 and 4,250 credits respectively, and Organization or Enterprise access also matters for connector use. The listed paid prices are per user, so team costs depend on seat mix as well as credit needs.

Platforms

Figma Make runs on macOS and the web. A separate closed beta for using Make in a local codebase is Mac-only and requires the Figma Beta desktop app for Mac, so it is not a general local-code option across platforms.

Who it's for

Make is strongest for people who already work with Figma Design and want to turn interface ideas into interactive, shareable prototypes with real content or API data. Designers can begin with existing frames; developers can work in code; teams can collaborate in real time. It is less compelling for someone seeking a predictable volume of AI generations or access to partner connectors on the entry-level plan.

Figma says it has SOC 2 Type 2 and SOC 3 reports, plus ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27018:2019, and ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certifications. Product and account support requests go through Figma's Support Hub.

Pros and cons

Pro: Multiple starting points and editing routes let teams move from a prompt or existing Figma component to a testable prototype without committing to one refinement method.
Pro: Backend data, sharing, real-time collaboration, and clickable output support review of behavior as well as appearance.
Pro: Organization and Enterprise connector access can bring supported external tools and, for Organization members, custom MCP servers into the workflow.
Con: Credit use varies by prompt and context, making it difficult to forecast how many iterations an allowance will support.
Con: Dev and Collab seats cost less but include only 500 monthly credits, substantially below the Professional Full seat's 3,000.
Con: The local-code beta is limited to Mac and requires Figma's beta desktop app.

Alternatives

For a different route to generated interfaces, CoderUI has a free plan and a Pro plan at 29.00 USD per month with 500 credits per month, all frameworks, and advanced customization; consider it if those stated plan terms better match the work.

Kombai offers a free plan with 300 credits per month, 150 signup credits, daily credits capped at 300 monthly, rollover up to 0.5×, and one seat; it may suit a solo user seeking a defined free allowance.

Codia AI has a free plan and runs on API, extension, and web platforms. Fronty offers a free plan that publishes to a free fronty.live address with Fronty branding, with page and usage allowances varying by plan. Quest has a free account with one code download and basically all features. Alloy offers a free plan with unlimited users, $5 credits per user per month, and 20 prototypes. Anima has a free plan with daily AI Playground chat, Figma import or website clone, and plugin code-generation caps. CopyWeb is a paid web option with a free trial and a Small plan at 9.90 USD per one-time purchase for 100 credits, usable within one year, for URL, Figma, CSS, HTML, or image conversions, website cloning, preview, and export.

Verdict

Choose Figma Make if your team wants to turn prompts or existing Figma work into interactive, data-connected prototypes and values visual, code, and prompt-based refinement in one workflow. Its main trade-off is that credits do not translate into a fixed number of iterations, while connector access and higher allowances require more expensive seat plans. Look elsewhere if predictable generation volume or a simpler, lower-cost seat structure matters more.
