HDShredder
HDShredder erases HDDs, SSDs, USB drives and other flash media at the physical level, independently of filesystem or operating system. It runs on Windows and Linux; the download includes Windows software and a self-booting program for USB or CD/DVD media, while Linux users can use an AppImage. The Free Edition is for private use and supports storage media with up to 4 TB total capacity. Basic and higher editions can erase individual partitions as well as whole drives. Standard supports 15 international erasure standards, while Professional allows custom deletion patterns and procedures with up to 398 runs and creates reports that can be saved to USB media or, on Windows, network drives. Enterprise editions erase up to 4, 8 or 16 media simultaneously, depending on the edition. Free and Basic licenses are limited to noncommercial use; Standard and Professional are also offered for commercial use. Prices range from free for the Free Edition to €799, paid once for Enterprise Edition 16x. Miray Software AG offers ticket-based technical support and recommends trying the Free Edition to check compatibility, since some drives require a higher edition.
