Filestash

Filestash is an open source platform for file sharing, document management, managed file transfer, and archiving. Its browser interface connects to storage and services such as FTP, WebDAV, SFTP, S3, SMB, Git, SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Storj, so users can browse, organize, and share files across those systems. It can expose storage through SFTP, MCP, FTP, WebDAV, S3, or AS2 gateways. An event-driven workflow engine chains actions and can be extended with plugins. Authentication options include corporate SSO through LDAP, SAML, and OIDC, alongside role-based access controls. Filestash describes its audit logs as immutable and traceable; its plugin catalog lists options including FIPS-compliant ciphers, IP blocking, and ClamAV scanning. Listed AI features include semantic search, smart folders, and OCR, including local models via Ollama. It supports web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. The installation guide calls for a Linux server with Docker, Docker Compose, and curl. Hobby supports up to three users. Self Served costs $50 a month with three seats; Enterprise Solutions costs $290 a month with unlimited users.

Xftp

Xftp is a Windows client for transferring files with SFTP over SSH2 and FTP. It supports drag-and-drop, queued and concurrent transfers, plus FXP transfers between servers. Scheduled jobs can send or receive files daily, weekly, or once in the background. Folder comparison and synchronization help keep remote locations aligned, while browsing can stay aligned between two servers. File tools include remote editing, search, filtering, transfer prioritization, and command-line transfers. Authentication options include public keys, passwords, and keyboard-interactive login, as well as SSH PKCS#11 and Kerberos integrations. Listed encryption includes AES and CHACHA20, and users can set a master password. Xftp interoperates with Windows Explorer and NetSarang’s Xshell, Xagent, and Xmanager. It runs on Windows 8 or later and Windows Server 2012 or later. The free license is limited to personal, home, and educational non-commercial use. The standalone Xftp license is $59 as a one-time purchase, with one year of maintenance included; a free plan and a 30-day trial are also listed.
