| Integrations | The README describes using FiloDB as a Grafana data source through its Prometheus-compatible HTTP API and identifies Cassandra as its persistence store. | InfluxDB connects to data sources through 400+ pre-built Telegraf plugins and has official client libraries including Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, and C#. |
| Querying | FiloDB supports PromQL through an HTTP API and CLI, and the README says its PromQL support is about 60%. | InfluxDB 3 supports native SQL alongside InfluxQL and includes a built-in Python processing engine. |
| Storage | Columnar compression and off-heap memory management help it store substantial data in memory while reducing garbage collection. | InfluxDB 3 stores data as compressed Parquet files in object storage with S3 API compatibility. |
| Support | The repository invites contributions; it does not state a paid support plan on the README page. | InfluxDB 3 Core is community supported, while Enterprise and Cloud Dedicated include a technical support SLA. |
| Use cases | Documented uses include operational metrics, distributed tracing storage, ad-hoc application-metric debugging, and real-time event storage and querying. | InfluxData describes InfluxDB as supporting industrial operations, observability platforms, and AI applications that need real-time data. |

In their own words
FiloDB
FiloDB is a free, Apache-2.0 open-source database for distributed, real-time time-series, event, and operational data. It is designed to ingest and query many millions of time series, sharding data across processes with distributed querying. Columnar compression and off-heap memory management support substantial in-memory storage while reducing garbage collection. PromQL is available through an HTTP API and command-line interface; the README describes support as about 60%. Histograms are a first-class column type, with the project reporting possible compression and query-speed improvements of up to two orders of magnitude. Typical ingestion uses Apache Kafka, while the Gateway accepts Influx Line Protocol over TCP. Grafana can connect through the Prometheus-compatible API, and Cassandra is identified as the persistence store. Deployment uses clustered standalone processes and requires Java, Cassandra, Kafka, Rust, a C compiler, and SBT to build.
InfluxDB
InfluxDB 3 is a time series database and platform for high-frequency data recorded with timestamps. It supports native SQL and InfluxQL queries, plus a built-in Python processing engine. Data can enter through line protocol, an HTTP API, client libraries, Telegraf or the influxdb3 CLI. More than 400 pre-built Telegraf plugins and official libraries for Python, JavaScript, Go, Java and C# connect it to data sources. InfluxDB stores data as compressed Parquet files in object storage with S3 API compatibility. Deployment choices include open-source single-node Core, self-managed Enterprise, managed Cloud Serverless and Cloud Dedicated, and Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB. InfluxData describes uses in industrial operations, observability and AI applications needing real-time data. Core is intended for development, prototyping and edge deployments, but lacks high availability and enterprise security. Cloud Serverless has a free option with service quotas and no high availability, plus $250 free credit. Core has community support; Enterprise and Cloud Dedicated include a technical support SLA.
