Overview

Founded in 2019, Fitia brings food records and meal planning into one service. Users can log by photo, voice, or text, with AI identifying foods and recording calories and macros. That flexibility makes the logging tools a better fit for varied routines than a single-entry workflow, though users should check AI identifications rather than assume they are correct.

Weekly meal plans address weight loss, muscle gain, and weight maintenance. Fitia also offers dietary filters, nutrition targets, shopping lists, and AI recipe generation. It says nutritionists review food database entries before publication, but that does not eliminate the risk of errors in AI-generated content; Fitia says its AI output is not professional medical or nutritional advice.

Key features

Food logging: Photo, voice, and text options reduce reliance on manual entry. AI handles food identification and calorie and macro logging, but its potential errors make review worthwhile.
Goal-based planning: Weekly plans for three distinct goals can help users align meals with an intended direction rather than browse general recipes.
Progress tracking: The Free plan includes weight tracking only. Several other progress-tracking features require Premium, so users who want a fuller view of progress should budget for an upgrade.
Connected tools: Premium can sync data with Apple Health, Health Connect, or other connected apps, which is useful for subscribers who want Fitia data connected to those services.
Privacy and support: Fitia may send profile, dietary, health, measurement, photo, and message data to third-party AI providers to process requests, and says it does not sell that data to those providers. It uses suitable technical measures to protect personal data but cannot prevent every security risk. For help, it directs users to support@fitia.app.

Pricing

Fitia is freemium, with a free tier, a monthly Premium subscription, and an annual Family Plan. The free plan is free and includes basic calorie and macro tracking, food logging, and a barcode scanner. Its four-meal cap and weight-only tracking make it a constrained way to assess the service, rather than a full substitute for Premium.

Plan	Price	What it includes	Best fit
Free	Free	Basic calorie and macro tracking, food logging, barcode scanner; four meals and weight tracking only	People who want basic tracking within the meal cap
Fitia Premium	19.99 USD per month	Personalized meal plans, AI coaching, advanced nutrition insights	People who want goal-based planning and more progress features
Family Plan	89.99 USD per year	Shared meal planning, shared grocery lists, flexible plans for different dietary needs	Households that want to plan and shop together

Fitia offers a one-time three-day Premium trial with the annual plan. The annual subscription starts automatically afterward unless cancelled, so the short trial requires a timely cancellation if you do not intend to continue. The Family Plan’s annual price is substantially different from Premium’s monthly billing cadence; choose it for shared planning needs, not as a like-for-like individual monthly option.

Platforms

Fitia runs on Android, iOS, and the web, giving users phone and browser options. Premium syncs with Apple Health, Health Connect, or other connected apps.

Who it's for

Fitia is strongest for people who want meal planning and food tracking in the same place, especially users pursuing weight loss, muscle gain, or maintenance. Its free tier can suit someone logging within four meals, but users seeking broader progress tracking, connected-app syncing, or personalized plans should expect to pay. It is a poor fit for anyone who needs AI output to serve as professional nutrition or medical advice.

Pros and cons

Pro: Multiple logging methods. Photo, voice, and text entry give users options for recording food.
Pro: Plans tied to clear goals. Weekly options cover weight loss, muscle gain, and maintenance.
Pro: Shared planning option. The Family Plan adds shared meal plans and grocery lists for households.
Con: Free-tier ceiling. Four meals and weight-only tracking limit how much of Fitia’s broader tracking approach a non-paying user can use.
Con: Trial renewal risk. The one-time three-day trial transitions into an annual subscription unless cancelled.
Con: AI and data trade-offs. AI can err, and processing requests may involve sending sensitive profile, health, measurement, photo, and message data to third-party providers.

Alternatives

AI Meal Planning Apps is the broader category to explore if you want to compare meal-planning options.

KitchenPocket is worth considering if a free recipe library and clipping workflow matter more than Fitia’s goal-based nutrition tracking.
Eat This Much may suit users prioritizing weekly planning with automatic grocery lists and delivery integration.
MealIdeas AI is an option for users who want daily AI meal picks and a low-priced Premium plan.
Nutrig is an alternative for users who want a free weekly meal plan with water and calorie tracking.
Yumnia is another freemium meal-planning option, with a paid plan that unlocks the full week.
KitchUp may fit users looking for a recipe-focused app on iOS or macOS.
MyPlateAI is an alternative if a limited monthly allowance of AI meal generations is enough to start.
Pantryfy may be preferable if pantry tracking and recipe tools are the priority.

Verdict

Choose Fitia if you want goal-based weekly meal plans alongside flexible food logging and calorie and macro tracking. Its central advantage is keeping planning and tracking together; its main drawbacks are the free tier’s four-meal and weight-tracking limits, the trial’s automatic annual renewal, and the need to treat AI output cautiously. Look elsewhere if you need professional nutrition advice or want a less constrained free tracking experience.
