In their own words
Fleet
Fleet is an open-core platform for managing endpoints: IT teams can configure, update, and secure devices across macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, iPadOS, Android, and ChromeOS. Its live device connection supports reports and audit logs for near-instant visibility. Fleet offers a catalog of maintained apps, automatic remediation for devices that fall out of compliance, and self-service access to approved software. Administrators can enforce FileVault, BitLocker, and LUKS2 encryption, remotely lock or wipe devices, and run checks against CIS benchmarks, SOC 2, ISO, or custom baselines. It can run on-premises, in the cloud, or in air-gapped environments; Free and Premium list self-hosting. Workflows can use the REST API, webhooks, or fleetctl, and integrations include tools such as Okta, Jira, and GitHub. The source code is public, and Fleet says its free version will always remain free. Free costs nothing and has no support. Premium is $7.00 per host per month; managed cloud is currently available only to customers with 700+ hosts.
Open Computer Orchestration
Open Computer Orchestration (OCO) centrally manages Linux, macOS and Windows computers, as well as Android and iOS devices, through a web interface. It provides inventory, software deployment and patch management, policies, installed-software lists, and fine-grained roles and permissions. For software jobs, it records exit codes and command output. OCO can automate operating-system installation and generate custom reports. Its JSON-RPC API supports customization and workflow automation, while extensions cover scheduled Wake On Lan and kiosk shutdown, package creation, and PC installation workflows. The software is open source and self-hosted on premise; users can run their own server or request a cloud-hosted trial. The server can run on any Linux distribution and uses MariaDB, Apache2 and PHP 7.3 or newer. The documented admin client supports Chromium-based browsers and Firefox version 80 or newer. Up to 20 devices can be managed free. A commercial license is required beyond 20 computers; the listed Enterprise license costs €299 per year per additional device for one year.
