In their own words
Flipt
Flipt is a feature flag platform for managing feature releases, with changes made in its interface becoming Git commits teams can review. It supports targeting rules, user segments, percentage rollouts, and approval workflows; the site says streamed flag changes apply in milliseconds. Flipt v2 is described as a self-hosted single binary with no dependencies. Interfaces include REST and gRPC APIs, client-side SDKs, and OpenFeature, with native SDKs for Go, Python, JavaScript, C#, Swift, Kotlin, and Dart. Git integrations include GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, and Azure DevOps. The free Open Source plan includes unlimited flags, Git workflows, UI synchronization, real-time updates, APIs, and community support. Flipt Pro costs $200/mo and adds Git-provider integration, pull requests from the UI, GPG-signed commits, secrets management, and a dedicated Slack channel. A 14-day Pro trial is available without a credit card. Flipt announced its hosted Flipt Cloud service would shut down on August 29, 2025.
PostHog
PostHog is a platform for building products, communicating with customers, and understanding customer data. Its suite includes product and web analytics, funnels, heatmaps, graphs and trends, lifecycle analysis, and user paths. Session Replay records sessions from web, React Native, iOS, Android, Flutter, and other SDKs. Feature Flags can target users, groups, or traffic percentages and support phased rollouts, kill switches, multivariate variants, JSON payloads, and beta opt-ins. An integrated data warehouse can use external sources such as Snowflake or BigQuery. PostHog CDP transforms events in real time and sends them to more than 50 destinations, including webhooks, Slack, Braze, and Customer.io. PostHog Desktop is a coding agent that can use product signals such as errors, support tickets, session replays, GitHub issues, Linear, and Zendesk to investigate causes and create pull requests. The free plan includes one year of event and metadata retention; free recordings are kept for one month. Paid plans guarantee seven years of event and metadata retention. PostHog also describes an open-source product licensed under MIT.
