Overview

Built around the Pomodoro Technique, Focus To-Do lets you assign execution time to a task and focus until the timer ends. Its list can also hold work and study plans, shopping lists, birthday reminders, and schedules, making it useful beyond work sessions.

The core advantage is the link between planning and time: organize tasks and projects, estimate Pomodoro counts, then review completed work and time patterns. That combination is more useful than a bare timer for people who want to track how effort maps to their plans. If you only want a countdown, the project and reporting tools may be unnecessary.

Key features

Flexible timer and task structure

Sessions can be paused and resumed, with adjustable work and break lengths, short or long breaks, skipped breaks, and continuous mode. This supports different routines rather than imposing one fixed cadence. Tasks can have due dates, reminders, subtasks, repeating schedules, notes, color-coded priorities, and estimated Pomodoro counts; that makes the app a workable planning space as well as a focus timer.

Reports and synchronization

Historical statistics cover completed tasks, daily, weekly, and monthly work time, and project time ratios. These reports can help users see where their effort goes, particularly when projects compete for attention. Focus To-Do synchronizes data across devices, including iPhone, Mac, Android, Windows, iPad, and Apple Watch, while the broader platform range includes web and browser extension access.

Local mode avoids registration, but its data does not sync and is lost if the app is uninstalled. That is a meaningful trade-off for anyone relying on the local copy as a long-term record. For registered premium-member data, the privacy policy says transmission uses SSL encryption; it also says synced task data is collected for synchronization and that the company will not read list and task content. Personal information collected and generated by the product is stored in the People's Republic of China, a relevant consideration for users with data-location requirements.

Pricing

Focus To-Do is freemium. The Free plan is free and is a free download with in-app purchases; it offers a route to use the app without an upfront subscription. The available plan details do not establish a free-plan cap, so the choice between free and paid is best made against the features you need rather than an assumed quota.

Premium in-app purchases include a 3 Months plan at 3.99 USD per month (billed 3 Months). This is the clearest paid option for someone who wants Premium for a defined period, though the effective monthly rate does not change the three-month billing term. Focus To-Do Premium and Lifetime have custom pricing. Lifetime may suit a buyer seeking a one-time arrangement, but its cost cannot be weighed against recurring billing without a quote.

Platforms

Focus To-Do runs on Android, iOS, macOS, web, Windows, and as an extension. That breadth is a strong fit for people who switch between phone and computer; users seeking a Linux app should look elsewhere. The support address provided by Google Play is support@focustodo.net, and the listing says support replies within 24 hours.

Who it's for

Choose Focus To-Do if you want a single system for timed focus, recurring tasks, reminders, and reports across several kinds of devices. It is particularly suited to people who plan projects in Pomodoro-sized work and want to review time by day, week, month, or project. It is less suitable for someone who wants only a lightweight timer, needs Linux support, or cannot accept product data stored in China.

Pros and cons

Pro: Flexible timer modes let users adapt session and break lengths rather than follow a single preset rhythm.
Pro: Tasks, projects, reminders, subtasks, estimates, and reports connect planning with time spent.
Pro: Support for six platform types and device synchronization suits people who move between devices.
Con: Local-mode data does not sync and is lost on uninstall, making it a poor choice as the sole home for durable task records.
Con: Personal information is stored in the People's Republic of China, which may rule it out for users with location constraints.
Con: Premium and Lifetime have custom pricing, limiting direct price comparison.

Alternatives

Pomodoro Timer Apps is a useful starting point if you want to compare the wider timer category. For a broader task-focused shortlist, see To-do list apps.

Pomodoist is worth considering if open-source software under the AGPL-3.0-only license matters, or if Linux support is essential; it is also freemium and offers a free trial. Forest may suit someone who wants core focus features with occasional ads and a limited Time Guard and soundscape setup on Android, iOS, extension, or web.

Pomofocus is a web and desktop option for users who want templates, visual reports, custom settings, and estimated finish times on its free plan; Premium adds projects, yearly reports, and CSV downloads at custom pricing. Session is an alternative for Mac, iOS, and extension users who value analytics from the past two days and calendar events in its free plan, with a free trial also offered.

Tomatoid is a free, no-account-required timer across Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. Tomato Timer is a simpler browser choice with a built-in to-do list and custom focus durations, with no signup or download. Focus Keeper is another freemium option for Android, iOS, macOS, and web. PomodoroTimers keeps its core focus tools free on Android, iOS, and web, with advanced options potentially offered later as extras.

Verdict

Focus To-Do is a strong fit for people who want Pomodoro sessions, structured task planning, and useful time reports in one cross-platform app. Its combination of timer flexibility and historical project statistics is the main reason to choose it. Look elsewhere if local-only data must remain safe through uninstallation, if Linux support is required, or if storing personal information in China is unacceptable.
