In their own words
FocusTide
FocusTide is a browser-based Pomodoro timer for organizing work sessions and breaks. Its work period starts at 25 minutes, with adjustable session lengths, built-in presets, and controls for how often long breaks occur. At the end of a section, the timer can continue, stop, or move to the next section; automatic break starts are available. It can track time beyond expiration and display time with seconds, minutes, or percentages. A space-key shortcut starts or pauses timing, while adaptive ticking reduces background activity. Section endings can trigger sounds and desktop notifications, with Musical and Sharp sound sets. An optional task list limits active tasks and can remove completed ones when a new section starts. Settings can be downloaded, loaded from a file, or reset. FocusTide supports seven listed languages, is free at free, runs on the web, and can be installed as a Progressive Web App. Its source code is public.
Tomato Timer
Tomato Timer is a focus timer for the browser and macOS, with a task list alongside timed work sessions. Its pattern alternates focused work with short breaks, then takes a longer break after four rounds. The browser timer includes a todo list for connecting sessions to tasks and lets users set custom focus durations; it runs without a download or signup. Browser data stays locally on the device. The native Mac app places its countdown in the menu bar and includes a todo list. It works offline, storing todos and timer history locally; the app's privacy policy says task, timer, and settings data are encrypted and not sent to external servers or third parties. The Mac app requires macOS 12.2 or later and supports Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The web timer is free. The macOS app costs $3.99, paid once, with no subscription. Listed platforms are Linux, macOS, web, and Windows.
