Overview

FollowThrough combines a CRM and sales pipeline with tasks, reminders, email automation, campaigns, reports and an owner dashboard. Templates for new leads, missed calls, quote follow-ups, first visits and inactive customers give businesses a practical starting point for recurring workflows; contacts can be added manually or imported from CSV.

Its retention tools extend beyond lead management. Customers can receive digital loyalty passes by email, track progress and check in with QR codes. Email uses a connected, verified sending domain when available and otherwise falls back to a default sender.

Key features

Pipeline and reminders: The Free plan covers a basic pipeline and tasks, while Solo adds full pipeline management and unlimited tasks and reminders. That makes Free a way to organize a small contact list, not a substitute for Solo’s full follow-up workflow.
Campaigns and automation: Solo includes outbound email, templates and 100 SMS messages per month. Growth raises SMS to unlimited and adds multi-step email sequences, better suited to businesses running sustained outreach rather than occasional follow-ups.
Loyalty and operations: Growth adds loyalty and rewards alongside booking and operations tools. Digital passes and QR check-ins make the loyalty feature relevant to businesses built around repeat visits.
Reporting and AI: Solo includes retention and behavior reports and 15 AI summaries per day. Growth adds the full AI suite, including deal autopsy, playbook and writer, plus unlimited AI report summaries. Business allows unlimited AI usage within a team pool.
Integrations and API: Square and Clover integrations are included with Solo. Public API access begins with Growth.

Pricing

The Free plan costs $0/ forever and permits one user and up to 25 contacts, with pipeline, tasks and email notifications. It is a narrow but useful starting point; the contact cap makes it a poor fit once a business has a substantial customer list.

Solo costs $29/ month for one user and up to 500 contacts. It adds unlimited tasks and reminders, full pipeline management, outbound email and templates, 100 SMS messages per month, Square and Clover integrations, retention and behavior reports, and 15 AI summaries per day. This is the sensible paid entry point for a solo operator who needs active follow-up and integrations but can work within the contact and messaging caps.

Growth costs $69/ month and remains limited to one user, but raises the contact allowance to 2,500. It includes everything in Solo, multi-step email sequences, unlimited SMS, the full AI suite, unlimited AI report summaries, loyalty and rewards, booking and operations, and one branded sending domain. It fits a single-user business that needs more outreach capacity or retention and booking tools; it does not solve the need for multiple seats.

Business costs $149/ month for up to 10 users and unlimited contacts. It includes everything in Growth, plus a team dashboard and activity feed, role-based access control, shared templates and sequences, multiple branded sending domains, unlimited AI usage in a team pool and priority support. It is the only listed tier for teams, but businesses needing more than 10 users will outgrow its stated seat limit. Paid plans have a 14-day free trial with no credit card required.

Platforms

FollowThrough runs on Android, iOS and the web, and offers an API. Public API access is included with Growth. That makes the service accessible across mobile and desktop workflows, while API use is gated above the entry paid tier.

Who it's for

The strongest fit is an owner-led small business that needs to manage leads and repeat customers in one place. Salons, car washes, restaurants, gyms and spas are among the business types it targets, particularly where reminders, campaigns and loyalty can support recurring visits. A business with more than 500 contacts, regular SMS outreach or loyalty needs will need at least Growth; a team needs Business.

It is less suitable for businesses that need multiple users on an inexpensive plan: Free, Solo and Growth each allow just one user, while Business supports up to 10. The 25-contact Free cap also makes it a limited long-term option for an established customer base.

Pros and cons

Pro: Pipeline, tasks, reminders, campaigns and loyalty tools share one system, which suits businesses that want follow-up and retention connected.
Pro: Workflow templates cover common service-business moments, reducing the setup needed to begin organizing routine follow-ups.
Pro: Growth removes the monthly SMS cap and adds multi-step email sequences, loyalty and booking tools for businesses with more developed outreach needs.
Con: The first three plans are single-user, so even a small team must pay $149/ month for Business.
Con: Free is capped at 25 contacts, while Solo’s 500-contact limit can also constrain a growing customer base.
Con: Solo’s 100 SMS messages per month may be restrictive for regular campaigns; unlimited messaging starts at $69/ month.

Alternatives

For salon-focused software, browse Salon Marketing Software. Consider WellnessLiving instead if classes and appointments booking, staff apps and POS matter more; its Starter plan is $62.00 USD per month billed annually and includes one staff member. Belliata is another salon option, with a free plan offering email reminders and support and a START plan at $20.00 USD per month.

SalonApp may fit a very small salon focused on appointments: its free plan allows 15 clients, 20 appointments per month and one staff member. Salonist is worth considering when free scheduling is the priority; its free Marketplace Listing includes 50 appointments per month, online booking, calendar and scheduling, and staff shift management.

Shore is an alternative. Barberly may suit barbers comparing per-barber pricing: a plan for 5+ team members is $9.00 USD per month per barber. Salonized is another alternative. Vagaro may be a fit for a business comparing location-based pricing; its One Location plan is $30.00 USD per month.

Verdict

Choose FollowThrough if you run an owner-led service business and want lead follow-up, customer campaigns and loyalty tools together, with a clear route from a small contact list to a team plan. Its main drawback is the steep step from one user to Business at $149/ month; businesses that need affordable multi-user access, or more than 10 seats, should look elsewhere.
