In their own words

FreeBooth

FreeBooth is open-source freeware for building a DIY photo booth. It works with cameras that connect to a PC and transfer pictures using tethering software, including DSLR cameras; the homepage says supported cameras can connect by USB or WiFi. Guests can share photos by email, with sending postponed until an internet connection is available. Printing can be enabled, and either printing or email sharing can be disabled. An embedded server lets devices on the same network view the latest picture and a slideshow, and users can customize colors for an event. The download page lists Windows 7, 8, and 10, Linux, and Mac OS X, and requires Java 7 or higher. English, Russian, and German are listed as languages. Canon EOS Utility and gphoto2 are named as tested transfer software. The maker invites questions and feature requests and says it will try to help. FreeBooth is listed for photo capture, printing, lead capture, and a live event gallery. The listed plan costs nothing.

LumaBooth

LumaBooth is event photo booth software for Windows, Apple devices, and Android. Its Apple app supports photo, video, GIF, boomerang, and 360 booth modes, with tools for templates, event branding, overlays, filters, stickers, and guest signatures and responses. Listed cameras include Canon, Nikon, Sony, built-in cameras, and webcams; Windows also lists GoPro support. Guests can share by email, SMS, Instagram, QR code, AirDrop, or WhatsApp, and the app supports physical prints. When an Apple booth is offline, email and SMS shares queue until it reconnects. Booth Copilot can monitor session information remotely, start sessions, and send print commands over the internet. Pricing starts at $17 a year for Windows, billed at USD $17/month annually; Apple and Android annual plans are $18 a year, billed at USD $18/month. Monthly Apple and Android plans are $19.99 a month. A trial is available without a stated time limit, but its watermark stays on photos and videos, and it is not intended for events.
