| Licence | The project is licensed under GNU Affero General Public License version 3 (AGPL-3.0). | Move's EULA grants a limited non-exclusive licence and prohibits copying, sublicensing, modification and reverse engineering, indicating proprietary software. |
| Privacy | Video processing is local; optional anonymous usage pings can send an IP address, timestamp and camera information, and users can disable those pings. | Move AI says it does not use video data, motion data, or output files to actively try to identify people in them. |
| Support | Community support is centered on Discord, with GitHub issues for bugs and feature requests and paid setup, training and custom services available. | Move AI lists [email protected] for privacy questions and its homepage links to a Contact Support form. |
| What it does | FreeMoCap records synchronized camera video and reconstructs full-body 3D movement without physical markers. | Move provides AI-powered markerless motion capture that converts video into production-ready 3D human motion data without suits or markers. |

In their own words
FreeMoCap
FreeMoCap records and reconstructs full-body movement as 3D motion-capture data. It is free, open-source software for researchers, animators, athletes, and creators. Capture can use two or more standard webcams, GoPros, or smartphones; a printed ChArUco board synchronizes camera feeds and defines the 3D coordinate system. Users can also record video offline on mobile devices and import it later for processing. Results can be exported in formats including CSV, FBX, and .blend files. A Blender add-on loads processed recordings into Blender as a rigged skeleton. Processing happens locally, and the homepage says video data does not leave the user's machine. A backend server download supports headless machines, remote capture rigs, and API use. The download page identifies the current release as alpha. Optional anonymous usage pings may include IP address, timestamp, and camera information, but users can disable them in the GUI. The project directs questions to Discord and bug reports or feature requests to GitHub. Its post-hoc guide notes that RTMPose produces 3D data but does not currently have working Blender export.
Move AI
Move AI describes its products as markerless motion-capture systems that use AI to create motion data. Move One is an iPhone app that turns single-camera video into 3D animation. Its free plan provides 30 credits once, which do not expire, for videos up to 30 seconds. Starter costs $18 a month, billed at $18/month plus VAT, and includes 60 credits per month for videos up to 60 seconds. Other listed tiers are Standard at $48 a month, Plus at $225 a month, and Advanced at $490 a month. Genesis processes motion data on premises through a desktop application using Nvidia GPUs. It requires one Nvidia GPU and 6–12 Z CAM cameras and lenses; listed capture capacity is 1–8 people in volumes of 4 × 4 meters or 20 × 20 meters. Genesis can process RGB or grayscale feeds from many existing Vicon or OptiTrack systems and integrates with Peel Capture for camera control, start and stop commands, file naming, and project management. Output formats include FBX, BVH, GLB, USDZ, Blender, C3D, JSON, and MP4 previews. Move AI says it does not actively try to identify people in video, motion data, or output files.
