In their own words

FundRazr

FundRazr is a crowdfunding and online fundraising platform for individuals, nonprofits, organizations, businesses, schools, sports teams, and other causes. Campaigns can use words, pictures, and videos, with Keep-it-all or All-or-nothing funding. Keep-it-all campaigns can run as long as needed; All-or-nothing campaigns can last up to 60 days. Payments connect to Stripe or PayPal, and funds go directly to those accounts rather than being held by FundRazr. Supported payment methods include credit and debit cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. Campaigns can include events, registration forms, tickets, teams, roles, permissions, leaderboards, wishlists, rewards, product variants, inventory, and shipping. Sharing options include Facebook, X, LinkedIn, email, Messenger, and WhatsApp; campaigns can also be embedded on websites. CRM and marketing integrations include Mailchimp and connections through Zapier. Organizations legally able to issue tax receipts can issue them automatically at no extra charge. The Optional Tips plan has no platform fee and payment processing of 2.9% + $0.30, with 95% of donors covering fees. Fee Recovery has a 1% donation-form or 5% fundraising-page platform fee, plus payment processing of 2.9% + $0.30.

Houdini

Houdini is free, open-source fundraising infrastructure for nonprofits and NGOs. It provides crowdfunding campaigns, fundraising events, donation forms, a donate-widget page and generator, plus simple donor management. Nonprofit dashboards cover payment history, payouts, recurring donations, metrics, supporter relationships through a CRM and organizational user accounts. Campaign reporting is listed as advanced. Payment processing is separate and requires Stripe API keys during setup. Houdini runs as a self-hosted Rails application, with production instructions for Linux using SystemD and Nginx. Supported systems include Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04, 22.04 or an equivalent. Prerequisites include Node.js 16, Yarn, PostgreSQL 12 (PostgreSQL 10 may work) and Ruby 2.7. The project describes its latest version as pre-2.0 and in heavy development, recommending v1 instead. Building JavaScript assets needs about 3 GB free RAM, while the deployment guide suggests at least 4 GB for the server. Security reports go by email; GitHub Discussions hosts project chat.
