Overview

The app pairs an Android or iOS device with GALAX’s Windows software, so card status and selected controls are available from a phone. That is a practical convenience for owners who want to keep an eye on a graphics card without sitting at the PC, but this is a companion for GALAX hardware, not a general GPU utility. GALAX, founded in Hong Kong in 1994 and formerly known as Galaxytech, positions its overclocking tools for both beginners and experienced users.

Key features

Monitoring and overclocking

Live temperature, frequency, and fan-speed readings help users follow card behavior remotely. 1-Click OC offers a simpler entry point, while advanced overclocking controls give experienced users more direct adjustment options. The range is useful, but its value depends on owning a GALAX graphics card.

Fan and lighting control

Users can remotely adjust fan speed and RGB effects. Up to 20 ARGB effects are supported on specific cards with ARGB features, so the lighting options depend on the model. Addressable RGB control and cross-device sync make this relevant to owners who want card tuning and lighting in one mobile companion.

Connection and sharing

To link the phone app, users scan a QR code in the PC app or enter the PC’s IP address. Both devices must be on the same SSID network for wireless connection, which is a meaningful limitation for anyone expecting to control a home PC while away. The app can also capture a system-status snapshot for social sharing. GALAX provides a Windows download for gaming gear support and GPU only. Google Play’s developer declaration says no data is shared with third parties and no data is collected.

Pricing

Xtreme Tuner App is free. The free plan includes the iPhone app, requires a GALAX graphics card, and depends on Xtreme Tuner PC software. There are no paid tiers to weigh against it, but the hardware and companion-software requirements are the real cost of entry: it is not useful as a standalone mobile tuner or for owners of other brands.

Platforms

The app supports Android and iOS, with Windows PC software required for the connection. The phone and PC must share an SSID network to link wirelessly, so this setup suits local control rather than remote access from a separate network.

Who it's for

Choose it if you own a GALAX graphics card and want live readings, overclocking options, or remote fan and RGB control from a phone. Beginners can use 1-Click OC, while experienced users have advanced controls. Look elsewhere if you need a GPU utility for mixed-brand hardware, standalone mobile control, or access while away from the PC’s network.

Pros and cons

Pros

Live temperature, frequency, and fan-speed readings make card status accessible from a phone.
Both 1-Click OC and advanced controls serve different levels of overclocking experience.
Remote fan and RGB controls combine tuning and lighting functions, with up to 20 ARGB effects on supported cards.
The app is free, with no paid plan required.

Cons

It requires a GALAX graphics card and Xtreme Tuner PC software, excluding owners of other GPU brands and standalone use.
Wireless linking requires the phone and PC to share an SSID network, limiting control to the local setup.
ARGB effects vary by card, so the advertised range is not universal.

Alternatives

GPU Tuning Software, GPU Overclocking Software, and RGB Lighting Software are broader category lists for comparing options.

ASUS GPU Tweak III is a free Windows option if desktop software is preferable; no price or usage limits are stated on its product page. Inno3D TuneIT is another free Windows utility, but its stated scope is INNO3D GeForce 50, 40, 30, 20, 16, 10, 900, and 700 Series cards on Windows 11 or 10 64-bit.

Intel VTune Profiler is the relevant alternative for Linux or Windows profiling, with a free download for commercial and non-commercial use and community support. Gainward ExperTool is a free Windows option for Nvidia GPUs, subject to its stated driver-version requirements.

NVIDIA_OC Daemon is a free Linux alternative under the MIT License. AMD GPU Tuner suits AMD Radeon owners on Windows 10 or 11 64-bit with a compatible Adrenalin driver; its project code is MIT-licensed and free. Green Curve is a free option for Linux or Windows. MoreClockTool is a free Windows choice for newer AMD cards, aimed at experienced users and evaluation purposes.

Verdict

GALAX Xtreme Tuner Plus is a sensible free companion for GALAX owners who want mobile monitoring and remote card controls, with options for both simple and advanced overclocking. Choose it for that focused phone-to-PC workflow; look elsewhere if your GPU is not from GALAX or you need control beyond the shared local network.
