In their own words

Game Jolt

Game Jolt is a game and creator community for discovering games and connecting with their makers and other players. Users can follow games to receive notifications about new posts, then organize followed games, devlogs, and developers into playlists. Community features include friends, private messages, chat rooms, and forums. Players can track trophies and scores in games that implement the Game Jolt Game API, and the Google Play listing describes quests from game studios and brands. The mobile app gives developers tools to manage games, post devlogs, and build a following. Creators can design and sell digital stickers, profile frames, and post backgrounds. Access is available in a browser and on the mobile site, with apps for Android, iPhone, and iPad and desktop downloads for Windows and Linux. Game Jolt is free. The Google Play listing says data is encrypted in transit and users can request its deletion. Support and account-removal requests can be sent to [email protected].

GameFAQs

GameFAQs is a free website for video game information and player communities. Its database covers games from the last five decades, while individual game pages may include guides, questions and answers, message boards, cheats, achievements, reviews, media, news, and release details. Players can ask or answer questions and join boards for games, communities, special interests, and gaming systems; the homepage says questions are usually answered in under an hour. Logged-in users can save favorite games and boards and request notifications about new guides, cheats, reviews, questions, news, and board activity. The site also lists game companies and credits, contests, rankings, and user-submitted Top 10 lists. Its Top 100 page ranks the 100 most visited game pages and is updated daily. Contributors can submit original HTML guides, FAQs, and walkthroughs for selected bounties, sometimes with GameFAQs Answers content. Bounty contributors must be at least 18, legally permitted to work where they live, and provide identity and tax information when requesting a first lock. Registration and login are available, with help categories covering accounts, contributions, guides, boards, Q&A, and saved files.
