Gaming Optimizer
Gaming Optimizer is a free, MIT-licensed Windows app for managing CPU affinity in games and background processes. It can assign games to fast cores and demote background processes, but CPU pinning is off by default and changes do not occur until it is enabled. The app says it restores altered processes and system settings when a game closes. Its dashboard shows CPU and GPU metrics, network activity, ping and jitter, bottleneck classifications and process zones. It detects game launches through WMI and scans Steam, Epic Games, GOG, Ubisoft Connect and EA App libraries. Per-game reports include average and peak CPU and GPU metrics and bottleneck breakdowns, with a cumulative sessions.csv file. An optional setting locks NVIDIA graphics clocks while a game runs and resets them afterward. The maker says there is no telemetry, analytics or update checking; the only outbound connection is a configurable latency ping. It requires Windows 10 version 1809 or Windows 11, an x64 processor and administrator rights. The README describes ZIP distribution without an installer, while the Releases page lists no releases.
SteelSeries Moments
SteelSeries Moments is a free Windows application for capturing and editing gameplay clips. Users can start capture with a custom hotkey or use AI clipping to save highlights in supported games; listed examples include Fortnite, Counter Strike 2, League of Legends, and Street Fighter 6. The app can trim clips, combine selected footage into montages, and manage clips by exporting, renaming, deleting, filtering, or favoriting them. Audio from multiple sources can be captured and edited independently. Clips can be uploaded to YouTube, Discord, Reddit, and Twitter (X). Trims can be saved as new files at full video and audio quality. Users can set capture intervals and save locations, while adaptive bitrate varies with frame complexity. The listed platform is Windows 10 and newer. Stated requirements include 8GB RAM, 2GB video RAM, and 500MB of disk space, as well as Intel Core i5-2xxx or newer or AMD FX-4xxx or newer CPUs and NVIDIA GeForce 960+, AMD Radeon HD 7870+, or Intel HD 4000+ graphics.
