In their own words
GeneratePress
GeneratePress is a WordPress theme focused on speed and usability, with a premium plugin that extends it. The maker describes it as suitable for hobbyists, freelancers, and agencies building WordPress sites. GeneratePress reports a 7.5 KB page size, two HTTP requests, and zero dependencies. GeneratePress Theme Premium and GenerateBlocks Pro can be used together to build theme elements visually in the block editor. The Local Font Library supports uploading fonts or installing them locally from Google Fonts; the maker says optimization can reduce file size by up to 50%. GP Premium adds layout, color, and typography options for WooCommerce elements. The theme is listed as compatible with major page builders, including Beaver Builder and Elementor, and with plugins such as WooCommerce. A free theme is available. GP Premium costs $59 a year; GenerateBlocks Pro and GenerateCloud are each $99 a year, and GeneratePress One costs $149 a year. Individual product license holders get premium forum support, while GeneratePress One includes priority email support and use on up to 500 sites. The pricing page offers a refund within 30 days of purchase.
Genesis Framework
Genesis Framework is a WordPress foundation for building websites, with security and search-engine optimization described as part of its foundation. StudioPress presents it for novice and advanced developers. It supports the Gutenberg block editor, and Genesis Pro adds content blocks, sections, and page layouts. The framework is pre-styled for WooCommerce, and StudioPress says its themes adapt to mobile screens and work with WordPress Multilingual, including right-to-left languages. Genesis is labeled open source, and theme use is not limited to a specific number of sites or period. The framework is available as a free download by requesting a zip through a StudioPress form. Genesis Pro costs $360 per year and includes the framework, 10 StudioPress-made premium child themes, support, and the Genesis Pro plugin, blocks, and layouts. Using Genesis themes requires a domain and WordPress installed on a web host; WordPress.com does not allow theme installation. StudioPress offers tutorials and support tickets but does not provide custom design services.
