Genesis Framework vs OceanWP

Genesis Framework is a WordPress foundation for building websites, with security and search-engine optimization described as part of its foundation. StudioPress presents it for novice and advanced developers. It supports the Gutenberg block editor, and Genesis Pro adds content blocks, sections, and page layouts. The framework is pre-styled for WooCommerce, and StudioPress says its themes adapt to mobile screens and work with WordPress Multilingual, including right-to-left languages. Genesis is labeled open source, and theme use is not limited to a specific number of sites or period. The framework is available as a free download by requesting a zip through a StudioPress form. Genesis Pro costs $360 per year and includes the framework, 10 StudioPress-made premium child themes, support, and the Genesis Pro plugin, blocks, and layouts. Using Genesis themes requires a domain and WordPress installed on a web host; WordPress.com does not allow theme installation. StudioPress offers tutorials and support tickets but does not provide custom design services.

OceanWP is a multipurpose WordPress theme for building websites on self-hosted WordPress. Its live previews let users adjust page layouts, colors, menus, and the order of blog post elements. The free theme supports WooCommerce, the block editor, child themes, RTL, and accessibility readiness. Listed compatibility includes LifterLMS, LearnDash, Easy Digital Downloads, and bbPress; integration settings also cover Google Maps, Google reCAPTCHA, MailChimp, Adobe Fonts, and SVG. Google reCAPTCHA can provide additional protection for supported registration widgets. The Ocean Core Extensions Bundle adds 14 premium extensions, 240+ Pro Demos, updates, and premium ticket support. Bundle licenses are annual or lifetime; annual terms last 12 months, and Personal, Business, and Agency plans differ by how many websites can use Ocean Pro extensions. Free users can seek basic support through the WordPress.org forum and OceanWP Facebook Community Support Group, with usual weekday response times of 48+ hours. OceanWP does not offer trials of its premium extensions, though eligible purchases have a 14-day money-back guarantee. The listed OceanWP Theme plan is free.
