Geotab
Geotab’s MyGeotab is paid, web-based fleet management software that brings vehicle and driver data together for business decisions. It provides real-time GPS tracking, live maps, trip history, and fleet dashboards, with alerts for speeding, harsh braking, and aggressive acceleration. GO Core includes basic routing, maintenance scheduling, inspections, work orders, and basic IFTA reporting. GO Plan adds collision-risk management, AI safety scoring, HOS/ELD and tachograph compliance, predictive maintenance, fuel monitoring, EV analytics, emissions reporting, and video telematics. The Geotab Marketplace offers third-party and Geotab-developed solutions; data-feed APIs and the MyGeotab SDK support custom applications and Add-Ins. Geotab says its device cryptographic modules are FIPS 140-3 validated and device-to-server communications use AES-256 encryption. Pricing is on request, and the listed plans include hardware without upfront device costs or installation fees. The software supports Android, iOS, Linux, Windows, and web use, plus API access.
Traccar
Traccar is GPS tracking software for monitoring devices through a self-hosted server or managed hosting. It shows device positions in real time on road maps or satellite imagery, alongside sensor readings and other tracker data. Alerts can flag geofence crossings, harsh driving, fuel drops, and maintenance events. Trip records, charts, summaries, and location history are available for review, with report export to Excel. Traccar works with trackers from manufacturers including Teltonika, Jimi IoT, Ruptela, Queclink, Suntech, and TopFlyTech across more than 200 protocols. Its server runs on Windows or Linux, on owned hardware or in the cloud. Android and iOS apps require a Traccar server; a separate client app can make a smartphone act as a tracker. The API supports service functions and live updates. The server is free and open source for private or commercial use. Managed plans are listed at $9.95 a month for a shared account and $49.95 a month for a dedicated server.
