Overview

Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Singapore, Ginkgo brings custodian and market information into a single operating layer for single-family offices, multi-family offices, ultra-high-net-worth families, and corporate investment platforms. Automated data import, entity management, and consolidated reporting address the administrative burden of portfolios spread across providers and asset classes.

Ginkgo is a considered purchase rather than a quick self-serve setup. Deployment takes 4–8 weeks, and the ongoing contract has a fixed annual fee with no AUM percentage or usage-based charges. A 30-minute product demo and included fully managed data operations give prospective customers a way to evaluate the fit before committing.

Key features

Ginkgo accepts custodian data feeds, data APIs, and documents delivered by email, including PDF statements, contract terms, and screenshots. That breadth is useful when providers do not expose uniform feeds, while automated importing reduces recurring manual collection. Coverage includes equities, fixed income, funds, structured products, options, private equity, alternatives, crypto, and multi-currency cash, so it is built for offices whose holdings extend well beyond public markets.

Daily two-way trade reconciliation automatically detects errors and sends instant alerts. For teams comparing transactions across custodians, this makes discrepancies visible as part of the daily process instead of waiting for periodic checks. Ginkgo also forecasts passive asset events, adding forward-looking monitoring to its ingestion and reconciliation work.

Reporting can be adapted at three levels. Users can configure charts themselves in 10 minutes, request team customization within one day, or have an existing PPT or PDF template replicated in one week. That gives an office a fast route to standardized outputs while preserving a higher-touch option for established reporting packs. Ginkgo aggregates custodian feeds and APIs, and says Bloomberg feeds and sell-side research can inform corporate bond analysis.

Security controls include AWS Singapore hosting, AWS KMS key management, AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS encryption in transit, role-based access control, and multi-factor authentication. Ginkgo says data does not leave Singapore and that the Singapore-incorporated business is subject to Singapore PDPA. Its security FAQ says third-party security certification status is still to be confirmed, which matters to organizations whose procurement requires a completed certification review.

Pricing

Ginkgo has no free plan, but it offers a free deployment period. The Deployment plan is free; deployment is free while setup takes 4–8 weeks. This removes an initial software charge, but it is not a permanent operating tier.

The Trial plan costs 1000.00 USD per month, with the contract rate applying thereafter. It is the clearest paid evaluation option for an office that wants to move beyond deployment, although the eventual rate is not given. The Contract plan has custom pricing, is billed as a fixed annual fee, and carries no AUM percentage or usage-based charges. That structure favors firms seeking predictable billing, while custom pricing makes budget comparison impossible without a proposal.

Fully managed data operations are included at no extra charge. The plans do not publish seat or quota limits, so organizations should confirm those commercial terms, renewal conditions, and the transition from trial pricing before signing.

Platforms

Ginkgo runs on the web. The service is therefore suited to teams working across office devices, but the published platform scope does not include native desktop or mobile applications.

Who it's for

Choose Ginkgo when a single- or multi-family office needs consolidated oversight across public, private, alternative, and digital assets, especially where custodian feeds, emailed documents, and APIs must be combined. Its daily reconciliation, configurable reporting, and included managed operations are particularly relevant to teams that want an operating partner rather than another manual data tool. Corporate investment platforms can also use its broad ingestion and bond-analysis inputs.

It is a weaker fit for a small investor seeking immediate setup, a firm that requires a published price list, or a buyer that cannot accept a multi-week deployment. Organizations with mandatory third-party security certification should resolve that status before procurement.

Pros and cons

Pro: Broad input support covers feeds, APIs, PDFs, contract terms, and screenshots, helping offices accommodate inconsistent providers.
Pro: Daily two-way reconciliation with automatic error detection and instant alerts targets a material control problem in multi-custodian operations.
Pro: Coverage spans traditional, private, alternative, crypto, and multi-currency holdings, with consolidated reporting and entity management.
Pro: Fully managed data operations are included at no extra charge, and reporting can be configured or rebuilt on stated timelines.
Con: Deployment takes 4–8 weeks, so it is not an immediate replacement for an existing workflow.
Con: Contract pricing is custom and the trial's post-trial rate is undisclosed, complicating upfront comparison.
Con: Third-party security certification status remains to be confirmed, a potential procurement blocker.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist of products serving this market, see Family Office Software.

Elysys is a paid alternative available on Android, iOS, macOS, self-hosted deployments, the web, and Windows; choose it when platform breadth matters more than Ginkgo's Singapore-focused operating model.
QPLIX is paid and supports mobile, API, desktop, self-hosted, web, and Windows environments; it suits buyers prioritizing a wide deployment footprint.
Asseta is a paid option for Android, iOS, and web when a simpler cross-device scope is sufficient.
FundCount has no free trial and starts at 35,899.00 USD per year for a Single Family Office / Asset Owner plan; choose it when a published entry price is more useful than Ginkgo's custom contract.
Addepar is a paid Android, iOS, API, and web platform with pricing discussed by demo; consider it when those access channels fit your firm.
Canopy starts at 15,000.00 USD per year per Subscription Unit for a Single Family Office, with additional units at 5,000.00 USD annually; it suits buyers wanting an explicit annual starting price.
Hatcher+ FAAST is a paid web platform with a free trial; choose it when trial access is the priority.
Masttro offers paid web and mobile access with a personalized flat annual fee; it is an alternative for firms wanting custom scope without an AUM-based fee.

Verdict

Ginkgo is a strong choice for family offices and corporate investment teams that need automated multi-source ingestion, daily reconciliation, and adaptable consolidated reporting across complex holdings. Choose it for the included managed operations and Singapore data residency; look elsewhere if you need immediate deployment, transparent long-term pricing, or confirmed third-party certification before purchase.
