ZCode Snippets
ZCode Snippets is a free, open-source, keyboard-first code snippet manager for Linux, macOS and Windows. It runs locally, storing snippet data in a SQLite database on the user’s machine, and works fully offline. Fuzzy subsequence search covers titles, bodies, tags and descriptions; the page claims results in under a millisecond. Named collections and tags organize snippets, with filtering by either. Syntax highlighting supports more than 20 languages, including TypeScript, Rust, Python, Go, SQL and Bash. Users can drag a code file into the app to create a snippet, then export or import snippets as JSON. Keyboard shortcuts cover creation, searching, copying, editing, pinning, deletion, navigation and settings. macOS downloads support Apple Silicon M1–M4 and Intel Macs. Linux packages include Debian/Ubuntu, Fedora/RHEL and AppImage; Wayland clipboard support requires wl-clipboard. Windows offers x64, ARM64 and MSI installers, though SmartScreen may flag the unsigned installer. No account is required, and private snippets are supported.
