In their own words
GitPLM
GitPLM manages product manufacturing information alongside product designs in Git. It brings together bills of materials, part numbers and manufacturing release data, including combined BOMs across subassemblies and release information for custom components. Its terminal interface supports column searches, per-column parametric searches, editing and datasheet links. Partmaster and BOM records use CSV files, while release configuration uses YAML. GitPLM can provide a parts database to KiCad through its HTTP Libraries feature and reload data when CSV files change. Optional release hooks can run tools such as KiCad’s InteractiveHtmlBom generator, though those hooks are supported only on Linux and macOS. The KiCad HTTP server can use an authentication token. GitPLM is described as a self-contained Go binary with no dependencies, runs on Linux, macOS and Windows, and is deployed on-premise. It is free, released under the Apache 2.0 license, and designed for small teams building products.
PDXpert PLM
PDXpert PLM helps electronics and mechanical product companies control bills of materials, engineering documents, and engineering changes. Its multi-level BOM records can include traceability, sourcing control, release and revision history, where-used information, and rollups. Teams can configure change workflows with steps, roles, electronic approvals, and audit history. Drawings and files can be revision controlled, permissioned, and linked to parts and changes. PDXpert can be self-hosted on-site or hosted in a private cloud, keeping product data in infrastructure the customer controls. The self-hosted REST WebAPI exposes parts, documents, BOMs, changes, and files for integrations such as ERP and analytics. The current AddIn release is for SolidWorks. The software runs on Windows with a SQL Server database. Subscription licenses include advertised unlimited product support. A fully functional free evaluation lasts three weeks; its download link requires a request form. Listed subscription prices include $3.50 a month for a read-only named user under Subscription Plus and $6 a month for a read-only named user under Subscription. Full-function named-user subscriptions are $13 a month under Subscription Plus and $22 a month under Subscription. Annual invoicing applies; Subscription Plus requires a downpayment based on the three-year term total.
