Overview

Quotes, orders, invoices, purchasing, scheduling, order tracking, inventory and sales sit within one shop workflow. A catalog of 2,500 common flat-glass items gives estimators a useful starting point; custom product and labor pricing, markups, fabrication and edgework charges, and seven pricing methods provide room to adapt estimates to a shop’s work. That flexibility favors businesses with varied jobs, though it also means the shop must establish its own pricing rules.

Key features

Estimating and catalog: Glass-specific pricing tools and a substantial common-product table support estimates tailored to flat-glass work rather than generic retail transactions.
Orders and materials: Purchase orders, inventory and order tracking connect sales to shop operations, while barcode scanner and thermal label printer support suit businesses handling physical stock.
Shower work: Heavy-glass and standard shower configurations include diagrams; heavy-glass configurations also have printable drawings. This is a practical advantage for shops that quote and coordinate shower installations.
Scheduling and field access: Schedules can create entries in Outlook or Google Calendars, and field staff can view job information on iPhone or Android smartphones. Schedules can sync with iPhone, iPad or Android devices, extending job coordination beyond the shop.
Payments: Mobile invoicing works through PayPal or QuickBooks Online, and customers can pay by credit or debit card without a PayPal account. The home page also names Stripe, while accounting interfaces are separate plug-ins.
Local data and access: The maker says the database resides on the shop’s computers rather than an internet server. Employee and system administrator security levels provide differentiated access, but the local-storage approach may not suit businesses seeking an internet-hosted database.

Pricing

GlaziersEdge starts at $215/mo and includes a 30-day trial. There is no free plan. The starting price makes the product a considered purchase for shops that will use its estimating, shower and shop-workflow capabilities; it is harder to justify for a business that needs only basic invoicing or scheduling. The entry figure is a starting price, not a complete account of every configuration or service cost.

QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and PeachTree Accounting interfaces are separate plug-in products, so shops relying on those connections should account for them apart from the core software. Product support is offered on a one-year term. Updates are provided when available to customers leasing the product or purchasing support services, making the support arrangement relevant to the ongoing cost decision.

Platforms

GlaziersEdge supports Windows, Android and iOS. Mobile access is oriented to field staff retrieving job information and syncing schedules, while the database remains on the customer’s shop computers according to the maker. That combination may fit a shop prioritizing local data storage, but it is not the same proposition as an internet-hosted system.

Who it's for

Retail glass shops and other flat-glass businesses are the clearest fit, especially those estimating custom work, configuring showers and coordinating field jobs. Shops that need a glass-specific catalog, fabrication and edgework pricing, inventory tools and installation scheduling can draw on a connected set of capabilities. Businesses seeking a free entry tier, bundled accounting connections or an internet-hosted database should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Seven pricing methods, custom charges and a 2,500-item flat-glass catalog give estimators a glass-focused base for varied jobs.
Pro: Shower diagrams and printable heavy-glass drawings address a specialized quoting and coordination need.
Pro: Scheduling, job information for mobile field staff, inventory and hardware support connect office and shop workflows.
Con: The $215/mo starting price and lack of a free plan raise the commitment for small or budget-conscious shops.
Con: Accounting interfaces are separate plug-ins, so QuickBooks or PeachTree users must consider additional products.
Con: The database resides on shop computers, which may be a mismatch for businesses that want internet-hosted data.

Alternatives

For other options, browse the Glass Contractor Software directory. Mitchell RepairCenter is another paid option with Android, iOS, Windows and API platforms; its package pricing and modules are not detailed here.

Auto Glass CRM may suit a shop wanting a lower-cost, web-accessible CRM-style alternative: Starter is 79.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for 1 shop and 5 users, with a 14-day free trial; it supports Android, iOS, API and web. eDirectGlass is worth considering for invoice-based pricing: Pay-Per-Invoice costs 5.00 USD per submitted invoice, supports up to 5 users and is intended for up to 50 invoices/month under an annual contract; it runs on Android, iOS and web.

GlazeOps is a web-capable alternative with a lower stated Starter price of 49.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for 5 members, 5 projects and 25 GB storage; it may suit teams whose project and storage limits fit their needs. MonitGlass uses custom quote pricing based on operation size and modules, a fit for businesses seeking an individually scoped option. Omega EDI offers a Repair Only plan at 9.95 USD per month, with up to 10 users, $2.00 per accepted EDI and unlimited e-mail invoices; it is a better match for users whose needs center on that invoice and EDI model.

PartnerPak+ Studio is a Windows, Android and iOS option with monthly subscription plans licensed per location and custom pricing through Kawneer. RFMS is another paid option for businesses seeking an ERP alternative; its Core ERP pricing is custom.

Verdict

Choose GlaziersEdge if you run a flat-glass or retail glass shop and want estimating, shower configurations, shop workflows and mobile field access in a glass-specific system. Its strongest reason to buy is the combination of detailed pricing tools and shower-focused work support. Look elsewhere if the $215/mo starting point, separate accounting plug-ins or shop-computer database do not fit your budget or operating model.
