In their own words

GNOME Remote Desktop

GNOME Remote Desktop is GNOME's free, open-source remote desktop server for Linux. It supports remote assistance to an active session, single-user headless desktop access, and headless remote login. The server offers RDP and VNC backends, though they do not support every operating mode equally. Locking the screen ends a remote-assistance connection; multi-user headless remote login integrates with GNOME Display Manager and is available only over RDP. PipeWire streams pixel content, libei handles input events, and Mutter's remote desktop API manages sessions. RDP uses FreeRDP and requires a TLS key and certificate; VNC uses LibVNCServer and supports password or prompt authentication. GNOME Settings can show an encryption fingerprint for comparison with the client. GNOME 50 adds Vulkan and VA-API hardware acceleration, HiDPI scaling, camera redirection, Kerberos authentication for screen sharing or single-user headless servers, and support for remote login sessions launched with gnome-headless-session. Listed working clients include Remmina, Connections, and xfreerdp on Linux, mstsc on Windows, and Thincast on Linux, Windows, or macOS. The project cautions against opening the firewall to the public internet.

OOONA

OOONA provides management and production software for media localization, covering subtitling, voiceover, dubbing and captioning. OOONA Integrated combines a translation management system with production tools for end-to-end project management. It offers customizable project and client dashboards, automated and bulk assignments, live project and user metrics, and access controls for internal and external users. OOONA Tools can be selected individually or in packages and include Create + Translate, Translate, Review, Transcribe, Subtitle Converter, Burn & Encode, Multilingual QC, Compare and Audio Description. Create + Translate supports timed-text authoring, editing, translation and reformatting with precise positioning and frame-accurate timing. APIs handle subtitle and caption conversion, validation, configurable checks, and automated work-order intake and delivery updates. Integrated supports single sign-on through Auth0, Microsoft ADFS, Microsoft Azure, MiniOrange and Okta, plus APIs for third-party language and client-management systems. OOONA says it uses DRM-protected video, browser-based work without transferring video assets, multifactor authentication, watermarking and continuous penetration testing. A free trial lasts four weeks with limited subtitle export; Timed Text Lab offers free, account-free timed-text tools.
