keybr

keybr is a free web application for learning touch typing and improving typing speed. It records keystrokes and calculates statistics for each key, including time-to-type measurements, then uses those results to generate the next word list. Lessons begin with a small group of common letters and add more after you reach the target speed for that group. You can set a target speed, monitor progress, and view learning graphs on your profile. Keybr can estimate how many lessons remain before reaching the target. Multiple practice modes and configuration options provide different ways to train. Its guidance recommends placing fingers on the home row, with index fingers on the raised F and J keys. The project is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. Docker and Docker Compose files support running a local instance. The project also welcomes bug reports, feature suggestions, translation contributions, and Discord participation. The Free plan costs nothing.
