| Spec score · Property-Based Testing Tools | 8.6 (#2) | 8.2 (#4) |
| Generators | It provides tighter control over generators than Go's testing/quick package. | Built-in generators cover values including integers, real numbers, characters, lists, vectors, strings, and symbols. |
| Property testing | It creates properties from condition functions and generated inputs. | Properties are written in ordinary Racket code and checked against generated values. |
| Purpose | Gopter is a Go property-testing library that brings ideas from ScalaCheck and QuickCheck to Go. | Quickcheck tests program specifications by running properties against randomly generated test inputs. |

In their own words
Gopter
Gopter is a free Go module for property-based testing. It creates properties from conditions and generated inputs, then checks whether those properties hold. Its generators provide more control than Go's testing/quick package and can be composed with operations such as Map, FlatMap, SuchThat, and WithShrinker. When a property fails, shrinkers seek a smaller value that still demonstrates the failure. Gopter also includes a generator for regular-expression matches and supports stateful tests based on arbitrary commands. Properties can run with Go's testing.T through TestingRun, and the gopter/convey package provides helpers for using Gopter inside GoConvey tests. Console and formatted reporters present test results. The project declares Go 1.20 and is distributed under the MIT License. Its documentation covers the gopter, gen, prop, arbitrary, commands, and convey packages. The README identifies two omissions: ScalaCheck's Pretty feature is not provided, and parallel commands are not available yet.
Racket QuickCheck
Racket QuickCheck is a free package for checking program properties with generated inputs. A property is written as ordinary Racket code, and the package runs it against generated values; if a check fails, it reports a counterexample and the arguments that produced it. Its default configuration runs 100 successful tests, and helpers allow counts of 1,000, 10,000, or a custom number. Built-in generators cover integers, real numbers, characters, lists, vectors, strings, and symbols, and custom generators are supported. The `rackunit/quickcheck` integration raises a RackUnit exception when a check fails and includes the test count and counterexample arguments. Install the package with `raco pkg install quickcheck` or through DrRacket’s GUI package manager. It requires Racket v6.0 or newer. Racket provides installers for Linux, macOS, and Windows. The package listing reports a successful build and passing tests, while also noting missing license metadata. The listed price is free.
