Overview

Make My Lesson is a teaching-resource generator for educators who want a connected set of materials built around a curriculum route. It best suits teachers preparing a full lesson rather than a single worksheet or outline. Its breadth is useful, but generation caps and care with lesson inputs matter.

A plan can bring together objectives, timings, differentiation and Bloom’s balance, then feed a duration-calibrated presentation with speaker notes. Activities include a student sheet and teacher answer key; assessments include a paper and mark scheme. That joined-up workflow can save switching between resource types, although it is more than a teacher needs when only one simple material is required.

Make My Lesson covers 69 curriculum routes across Australia, the UK, Canada, the International Baccalaureate and US/AP, and advertises 16 teaching methods. That range gives teachers several routes for aligning a lesson to their context, but the fit depends on whether their curriculum and preferred methods are among those supported.

Key features

Planning and materials

Lesson plans can include standards-aligned objectives, pacing, differentiation and a balance of Bloom’s levels. These elements make the plan more useful as a teaching structure than a bare topic outline, particularly for teachers planning for varied learners. The presentation stage uses the objectives to create a slide deck calibrated to lesson duration, with speaker notes. Activity sheets come with teacher answer keys, and assessments with mark schemes, so the output extends from preparation into classroom use.

Exports, sharing and data

PDF and PowerPoint exports, ZIP downloads and printing offer several ways to take materials out of the service. Sharing to Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams may suit teachers already using those platforms. The service has Android, iOS and web access, with mobile apps linked through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Lesson inputs go to US-based AI model providers, which are instructed not to train on inputs or outputs. Account passwords are stored encrypted, data is encrypted in transit, and staff access is limited by role. The platform does not create student accounts, and teachers are asked not to include identifying student information in lesson inputs. That guidance is important for anyone preparing materials from real class details. Support is described as real humans usually replying within one business day.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, billed Forever Free, and includes five generations. The lesson-plan page says a plan uses one credit and requires no card. That is enough to try a small number of lesson plans, but the cap is restrictive for regular preparation.

The Monthly plan is 9.99 USD per month, billed Monthly, with 30 generations; $15.99 USD is shown before discount. The 3 Months plan is 27.00 USD per once, billed For 3 months, with 90 generations; $47.97 USD is shown before discount. The 6 Months plan is 50.00 USD per once, billed For 6 months, with 180 generations; $95.94 USD is shown before discount. The Annual plan is 90.00 USD per year, billed For 12 months, with 360 generations; $191.88 USD is shown before discount. The longer commitments provide more generations per purchase, but every paid plan’s unused credits expire when its period ends, so spare capacity cannot roll forward.

Schools and departments have custom pricing by quote. The offer is aimed at teaching teams, with individual accounts and separate credits for each teacher. This fits teams that need separate teacher access better than an individual plan, though the price requires a quote.

Platforms

Make My Lesson runs on web, Android and iOS. Its web access supports browser-based preparation, while the mobile apps give another route to the service.

Who it's for

It is a strong fit for teachers who want lesson planning, slides, activities and assessment materials connected to the same objectives, especially across one of its listed curriculum routes. Teachers who only need occasional plans can start with five free generations; regular users should compare their expected usage with the plan caps and expiry terms. Avoid entering identifying student information in lesson inputs.

Pros and cons

Pro: Plans, duration-calibrated slides, activity sheets, answer keys, assessments and mark schemes form a coherent lesson pack.
Pro: A broad set of curriculum routes and advertised teaching methods gives teachers multiple alignment options.
Pro: PDF and PowerPoint exports, ZIP downloads, printing and classroom-platform sharing support different handoff needs.
Con: Five free generations limit sustained use without moving to a paid plan.
Con: Paid credits expire at the end of the plan period, which makes unused capacity costly for inconsistent users.
Con: Lesson inputs are sent to US-based AI providers, so teachers must keep identifying student information out of prompts.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, browse AI Lesson Plan Generators. Choose GradeAid if a web-based plan with a stated five resources a week, PDF and Word exports, or a Pro allowance of 200 resources a month better matches your workflow. TeacherMatic may suit teachers who want a stated daily free allowance and exports to PDF, DOCX, Google Docs and more. Consider Almanack for curriculum design and long-range planning alongside standards-aligned lesson planning, slides and basic worksheets or activities. Education Copilot offers three core AI templates on its free plan, including lesson plans and handouts, with document editing and export. Homeroomie is an option for teachers whose needs fit its free monthly allowance of three lesson plans and three worksheets per lesson. Common Planner may be preferable for daily, weekly and monthly planning and posting lessons to Google Classroom. TeachTools suits a lighter monthly allowance and print-ready PDFs with Google Docs export. Eduaide is another option for lesson plans, worksheets, organizers, games and assessments, with generation limits on its free tier.

Verdict

Choose Make My Lesson if you want a curriculum-oriented lesson pack spanning planning, presentation, activities and assessment, rather than a standalone plan. Its main advantage is that breadth of connected output; its main reason to look elsewhere is the generation ceiling and expiring paid credits, particularly if your usage varies from month to month.
