In their own words
GraphDB
GraphDB is an RDF and SPARQL semantic graph database for storing data and performing inferencing in the Graphwise AI Platform. It supports SPARQL 1.1, RDF4J compatibility, RDFS and OWL 2 RL and QL rulesets, federated queries, and RDF-star. Its real-time forward-chaining reasoning operates across datasets, and the product page describes native GraphRAG and LangChain integration. GraphDB can run as a desktop or standalone server application, be self-hosted, or be deployed on AWS and Azure; downloads are listed for Windows, macOS, Linux, and a platform-independent distribution. The Free edition includes a Lucene connector, one parallel query, and up to five repositories; GraphDB 11 and later requires a free license. Enterprise supports multiple cores, unlimited repositories, high-availability clustering, and connectors for Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr, and Kafka. Free is on-premise only with community support. Enterprise includes SLA support and is licensed per server CPU core, with each cluster node licensed separately. Free costs nothing; Enterprise pricing is on request.
Tentris
Tentris stores and queries RDF knowledge graphs using SPARQL 1.1. It keeps RDF graphs in a single compressed Hypertrie index designed to reduce memory use. For query execution, it combines adaptive planning with worst-case optimal joins, streams results, and avoids materializing intermediate results. Tentris describes its support as RDF 1.1 and SPARQL 1.1 compliant, so existing RDF data models do not need to change when switching. It is also positioned as a knowledge layer for GraphRAG, AI agents, and semantic applications requiring deterministic retrieval across connected knowledge. The Community plan is free and includes a single-core license, in-memory storage, transactions, and community support. The non-commercial license excludes production and revenue-generating use. Commercial is billed Annual, licensed per CPU core starting at 12 cores, and includes a 60-day trial license; no price is listed. Cloud is marked coming soon for Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. Install options include Linux, macOS, Docker, and Python, with x86-64 and ARM AARCH64 listed.
