Guitar Tab Maker vs TabMaker

Guitar Tab Maker is a free browser-based editor for writing guitar tablature from scratch, one fret at a time. Its six-line grid accepts fret numbers from 0 to 24, and multiple notes can be placed in one column to form chords. Tuning presets include Standard, Drop D, DADGAD, Open G, and Eb Standard; users can set tempo in BPM. Notes can be marked with hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides, bends, or dead notes, while columns support whole, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth note values. The editor displays standard notation alongside the tab and plays the tab with sound. You can paste a six-line ASCII tab to continue editing, then download ASCII text or MIDI, or print a PDF containing notation and tablature. It works in modern browsers on Mac, Windows, Linux, and phones without installation. The page says tabs remain in the browser rather than being uploaded. Users enter the notes themselves; the tool does not generate them with AI. It does not export Guitar Pro files.

TabMaker is a browser-based tool for creating, organizing and managing tabs for guitar, bass, ukulele and banjo. Its AI can turn microphone-recorded guitar riffs into tabs, or process MP3 and M4A files up to 6 MB in Quick Tabs, Enhanced Tabs or Chords Only modes. A separate Guitar & Bass to MIDI tool converts MP3 recordings into standard MIDI files with detected notes and musical properties. The browser app supports tab and standard notation, and plays tabs with acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass or banjo sounds. Tabs can be exported as PDF or ASCII text, printed in the browser or shared through a viewing link. The free plan costs nothing, requires no registration and stores tabs in browser localStorage; cloud storage is included with paid subscriptions. Monthly subscription costs $3.99 a month, or annual subscription costs $34.99 a year. The iOS app adds cloud saving and exports including PDF, MP3, MIDI and text.
