In their own words

H5P

H5P lets authors create, share, and reuse interactive content such as videos, presentations, games, and quizzes. Featured content types include Interactive Video, Course Presentation, and Branching Scenario, and a browser is enough to view or edit content. Core team plugins support WordPress, Drupal, and Moodle; H5P.com adds LTI integrations including Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard, and Moodle. H5P.com content can also be embedded where iframes are supported or shared by direct link. The free self-hosted software uses an MIT license but requires Drupal, WordPress, or Moodle, and its plugin does not include content types or support. H5P.com’s 30-day trial requires an application and approval. After the trial, users have 14 days to buy a plan or save and export content; activities become inaccessible afterward unless exported. H5P validates package files and sanitizes author input, but evaluates answers on the client side, which can let technically knowledgeable users cheat.

TouchPoint Studio

TouchPoint Studio creates interactive videos with clickable hotspots, buttons, popups, and social links. It accepts video from a local drive, hosted MP4 URLs, YouTube, Vimeo, X/Twitter, and DaVinci Resolve timelines. Hotspots can be text, buttons, images, or invisible masks; popup setups can use booking links, iframe URLs, and add-ons for bookings, signup forms, payments, and reviews. A free DaVinci Resolve plugin for Mac, Windows, and Linux lets users mark hotspot points on a timeline and bring the video into Studio for refinement and publishing. Its Chrome extension can show hotspots on YouTube, Vimeo, and X videos when a TouchPoint code is in the description. The free tier allows unlimited Studio design and one public hotspot live. Usage analytics are listed at $10 per month per video. The separate Video Wall gallery supports TV, Chromecast, and AirPlay viewing but has no analytics. Studio requires desktop access, and its page says new accounts are not being accepted and it will reopen in 2027. The listed Pro plan is $39 a month and Agency is $97 a month; Wall is $5, paid once.
