Overview

Reap centers its editing workflow on speech: it identifies moments in long videos, webinars and interviews, then helps shape them into clips and translated versions. That is a useful fit for podcasts, lectures and other recordings where dialogue carries the content. It is less compelling for projects whose main work is visual storytelling rather than spoken material.

Imports include YouTube, Twitch, Twitter/X and Vimeo, alongside direct uploads. The upload ceiling is 5 GB on Free and 10 GB on Creator and Studio. Those limits matter for lengthy or high-resolution source recordings, so check the source file size before building a workflow around the service.

Key features

Clipping, captions and editing

Reap analyzes faces, vocal tone, pauses and pacing to find potential social clips. More than 50 animated caption presets and support for 100+ languages, including romanized scripts, give creators options for styling and reach. The tools are specifically oriented toward spoken video, not a general-purpose editing suite for every kind of footage.

Transcript-based editing changes the corresponding video when the text is edited, a practical way to refine speech-led cuts. Clips can be up to 3 minutes, aspect ratios are listed as all, and custom artwork and a brand kit are supported. The maximum export resolution is 1080p, although Studio offers 4K exports; creators who need 4K should therefore look beyond the general export ceiling and confirm that plan's output suits their workflow.

Dubbing, publishing and automation

Paid plans include AI dubbing in 80+ languages, with 2 hours a month on Creator and 5 on Studio. These allowances make dubbing a defined part of the workflow, but not an unlimited localization pipeline. The publisher connects TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook and X; supported destinations vary by plan.

REST API, CLI and MCP access, plus stated compatibility with n8n, Zapier and Make, make Reap more adaptable for teams automating repetitive steps. Studio adds faster processing and priority support. Enterprise includes a dedicated account manager and priority support, with SSO and custom integrations.

Pricing

Reap is freemium, with a free plan and a free trial. The lowest paid rate is $9.99 per month, billed annually at $119.88; monthly billing is available at a higher rate. That annual commitment is a meaningful trade-off for anyone still establishing a regular clipping workflow.

Plan	Price and allowance	Best suited to
Free	Free, Free forever. 1 clipping and captioning hour per month; 720p watermarked exports; projects expire after 7 days; 5 GB uploads.	Trying the workflow on occasional material. The watermark and expiry make it a poor choice for client-ready or continuing projects.
Creator	9.99 USD per month, billed $119.88 annually; monthly billing is available at a higher rate. 10 clipping hours and 10 caption hours per month, 1080p watermark-free exports, 2 dubbing and translation hours per month, 1 user, and 10 GB uploads.	A solo creator who needs clean exports and predictable monthly capacity. Its single seat rules it out for a small team.
Studio	29.00 USD per month, billed $348 annually; monthly billing is available at a higher rate. 20 clipping hours and 20 caption hours per month, 4K watermark-free exports, 5 dubbing and translation hours per month, up to 3 users, and 10 GB uploads.	A small team that can use the extra seats, higher monthly quotas and 4K output. It costs substantially more than Creator, so the upgrade makes sense when those additions are actually needed.
Enterprise	Custom pricing. Unlimited team members, custom clipping and captioning hours, custom dubbing and translation volumes, SSO and custom integrations.	Organizations that need adjustable volumes, centralized access or tailored integrations.

Creator and Studio both have defined monthly quotas, so heavier production may require Enterprise rather than simply relying on a larger one-time allowance. Free is unusually constrained for ongoing work: one hour a month, a visible watermark and seven-day project expiry all limit its usefulness beyond evaluation.

Platforms

Reap is available on web and lists Android, iOS and API among its platforms. It runs in a mobile browser; native iOS and Android apps are launching in Q3 2026. Do not treat the mobile platform listings as confirmation of native apps before that launch.

Who it's for

Reap is best for creators, publishers and small teams with a steady supply of spoken video to repurpose. Podcasters and webinar producers should find the mix of clipping, transcript editing, captions and publishing more relevant than a standalone caption tool. It is a weaker fit for visual-first editing, very high-volume localization on Creator or Studio, or collaborative work that needs more than three seats without custom pricing.

Pros and cons

Pros: Clipping, transcript-based editing, captions, dubbing and publishing sit in one workflow, reducing the need to assemble separate steps for spoken-video repurposing.
Pros: Creator removes the watermark and raises export quality to 1080p, while Studio adds up to three users and 4K exports for small teams.
Pros: API, CLI and MCP access, alongside n8n, Zapier and Make compatibility, offer routes to automate work beyond the built-in publisher.
Cons: Free exports are watermarked and projects expire after seven days, while the monthly clipping and caption allowance is only one hour.
Cons: The $9.99 monthly Creator rate requires annual billing, and its one-user limit excludes collaboration.
Cons: Dubbing is capped at 2 hours monthly on Creator and 5 on Studio, constraining teams that localize large volumes.

Alternatives

For a broader scan of tools, see AI Video Repurposing Tools and AI audiogram makers.

EchoWave Podcast Editor is another freemium option, with a free plan offering 720p exports, videos up to 60 minutes and 24-hour storage; consider it if those free-plan terms suit your use better. CapsAI has a free plan whose page shows 0 minutes left and a one-time Starter plan at 49.00 INR; compare its paid option if a one-time purchase matters more than Reap's annual Creator commitment. Flowjin offers a free 60-minute one-time credit at 720p, with conflicting clip-export limits across its plan materials; consider it if a one-time credit is more useful than Reap's monthly allowance.

Headliner offers unlimited video clips and captioned clips on its Forever Free plan, with unlimited watermarked audiograms and one unwatermarked audiogram per month; it may suit readers focused on that free audiogram allowance. Waveloop is another option. Audiogram has a free plan capped at two videos per month and captions up to 60 seconds, plus a Pro plan at 19.00 USD per month; consider it if those narrower monthly caps fit your output. Clipperz offers a free tier with monthly credits, seven-day retention, a watermark and no scheduler or custom branding; it may suit a credit-based audiogram workflow. SLOVO is a free alternative with no account or card requirement, no video limit and exports up to 4K without a watermark.

Verdict

Choose Reap if you regularly turn podcasts, interviews, lectures or webinars into clips and want captioning, transcript edits, publishing and paid dubbing in the same workflow. Its strongest case is that focused spoken-video toolkit, with useful automation access for teams. Look elsewhere if you need a sustainable free production tier, a lower-commitment entry price, or substantially more than Studio's three seats and monthly quotas.
