Harmony Pro vs Veena Studio AI Drum Generator

Harmony Pro helps composers and producers explore chord possibilities while a piece takes shape. Its suggestion engine offers Balanced, Conservative, Exploratory, and Jazz Expert profiles, with controls for richness, boldness, modal character, continuity, exploration, and style fit. A progression workspace includes key detection and playback. Users can inspect harmony in keyboard, guitar, and sheet views, and use scale and common-tone controls, reverse chord lookup, a progression generator, and a voicing explorer. Chord audio playback is available. Harmony Pro runs on macOS, Windows, and the web. On macOS and Windows, it is available as AU and VST3 plugins; the maker says the VST3 version is intended for Ableton Live. The maker says the app has no AI. It may ask permission to send minimal usage statistics and technical data, while stating that musical content is not transmitted. Users can change this choice at any time. The listed plan is free.

Veena Studio AI Drum Generator is a browser-based digital audio workstation with an AI CoProducer. Describe a groove and the drum generator creates an editable MIDI pattern on a 16-step grid, allowing hit-by-hit changes. CoProducer can build separate tracks for beats, bass, chords, melodies, arrangements, and mixes. The studio includes a timeline, piano roll, mixer, recording, 61 instrument presets, seven drum kits, a 16-pad sampler, and 10 effects. Additional tools cover voice-to-instrument conversion, stem separation, AI mixing and mastering, audio-to-MIDI, and sample search. Exports include WAV, MP3, MIDI, and stems without caps or watermarks on either plan. Veena Bridge runs user VST3 and AU plug-ins. Shared links enable real-time collaboration, including CoProducer access for collaborators. It works in browsers on computers, phones, and school Chromebooks. The Free plan is free; Veena Pro is $20 a month. Veena says users own generated music on every plan.
