Overview

Draw a floor plan, furnish and decorate rooms, then switch between 2D and 3D to work through the space. Planner 5D also describes AI tools for generating ideas, exploring layouts, and testing styles. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, it spans casual home planning and professional design workflows, though the plan differences matter if you need polished renders or CAD export.

Key features

Design and visualization

Core 2D/3D design and room furnishing give homeowners and renovators a way to develop a layout before committing to changes. Real-time scenes, 360° tours, VR/AR support, and AI visualization tools broaden how a design can be explored. The Professional plan is the clearest fit for users who need unlimited 4K renders, 360° walkthroughs, or panoramas; the free and Premium plan descriptions do not promise those outputs.

Plan files and export

Upload JPG, PNG, PDF, DWG, or DXF floor plans for recognition, which can save time when starting from an existing plan. DWG and DXF export of 2D plans is reserved for PRO users, so file import alone does not make the lower tiers a complete CAD handoff workflow.

Business integrations

Enterprise options include a white-label room planner, 3D product configurator, APIs, and cart, CRM, and ERP connections. Broader integration options include Open API, SSO, e-commerce, shopping carts, ERP, and DataStore connectivity. The B2B integration uses JavaScript and server-to-server REST APIs, with access provisioned after signing; this is geared to businesses embedding or connecting the product, not individual room planners.

Pricing

Planner 5D is freemium, with a free plan and free trial. Its pricing note says paid access starts at $19.99/mo, while the plan details give these options:

Free — 0.00 USD per free, no time limit: Unlimited projects, core 2D/3D design, and 50% of the furniture catalog. It is a useful starting point for exploring layouts, but the catalog is deliberately partial.
Premium — 59.99 USD per year, billed Pay annually: Floor-plan upload and conversion to a 3D project, the full premium furniture catalog, standard renders, and a budget widget. This suits homeowners or renovators who need more furnishings and plan conversion without the Professional tier's advanced output.
Professional — 399.99 USD per year, billed Pay annually: Unlimited 4K renders, custom 3D model uploads, 360° walkthroughs and panoramas, and CAD export. It is the stronger choice for frequent or presentation-focused work, but its annual price is a substantial step up from Premium.
Enterprise — custom pricing: White-label room planner, 3D product configurator, APIs, and cart, CRM, and ERP connections. This is for organizations that need an integrated or branded planning experience rather than a standalone design app.

Subscriptions auto-renew. Cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid another charge. Android-only subscriptions do not support cross-platform synchronization, an important constraint for anyone switching between devices.

Platforms

Planner 5D runs on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. Projects sync across supported devices when used with the same account, except that an Android-only subscription does not support cross-platform synchronization. The product also identifies itself as hybrid and supports mobile viewing.

Who it's for

Homeowners, renovators, and design enthusiasts can use the free tier to develop room and property layouts, while Premium adds a full furniture catalog and plan conversion. Interior designers, architects, and studios with rendering, custom-model, or CAD needs have a clearer case for Professional. Businesses that need a white-label planner or commerce and system connections should consider Enterprise. Planner 5D says it uses reasonable organizational and technical safeguards for personal data but cannot guarantee absolute security; it also says it does not sell student data or process it for AI training or advertising.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free plan allows unlimited projects, so users can work on multiple spaces without a project-count cap.
Pro: Importing common image, PDF, and CAD plan formats supports work from existing drawings.
Pro: Professional combines unlimited 4K renders, walkthroughs, custom models, and CAD export for more complete presentation workflows.
Con: Free users get only half of the furniture catalog, limiting choice when furnishing a design.
Con: CAD export is a PRO feature, leaving lower tiers less suited to CAD-based handoff.
Con: Android-only subscriptions cannot sync across platforms, and cancellation less than 24 hours before renewal risks another charge.

Alternatives

Home Design 3D is worth considering for a similar freemium approach on Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows; its listed Premium Weekly options are 2.99 USD per month on iOS/macOS and 4.99 U on Android, both billed one week and auto-renewing.

For landscape-focused work, PRO Landscape+ is a paid option for the professional landscape industry, while Vectorworks Landmark is a paid alternative with a free trial across macOS, web, and Windows. SmartDraw is a paid web, Windows, macOS, and Linux option, with Team requiring a three-user minimum.

Home Designer is a paid Windows and macOS alternative; Pool Studio is a paid Windows option for pool design. DynaScape Design is a paid Windows product with CAD-based landscape design and landscape-specific drafting tools, while AutoLANDSCAPE is another paid Windows alternative.

Verdict

Planner 5D is a strong starting point for homeowners and renovators who want unlimited projects and 2D/3D planning without an upfront cost. Choose Premium for full furniture access and plan conversion; choose Professional when renders, walkthroughs, custom models, or CAD export justify the higher annual price. Look elsewhere if Android subscription portability is essential or if your workflow depends on CAD export below the Professional tier.
