In their own words
HighQ
HighQ is legal matter management software for coordinating legal and business operations, workflows, and collaboration. It centralizes documents and matters for secure access, organization, sharing, tracking, auditing, and version control, with role-based access. Teams can automate processes using templates or customized rules, then use dashboards, analytics, and reports based on platform metadata. The knowledge management offering provides a searchable precedent repository, maintained precedents, legal insights, and shared resources. Its knowledge hub can use CoCounsel to review or summarize selected documents and links directly to Westlaw and Practical Law. HighQ solutions are described for corporate legal teams and law firms, including contract management, matter intake, client portals, and knowledge management. Thomson Reuters says the Australian knowledge management service is IRAP assessed against PROTECTED controls and hosted on Microsoft Azure infrastructure in Sydney and Melbourne. A separately licensed HighQ Appliance can be installed on a customer server or virtual machine inside its firewall or DMZ. Pricing is available on request; there is no free plan.
PONS Operations
PONS Operations organizes a legal case, transaction, or project as a matter containing documents, tasks, people, and results. Opening a matter can surface relevant laws, suggest tasks, and produce a starting draft based on its context. The system supports solo practitioners, law firms, in-house teams, and multi-entity organizations. Teams can co-edit documents, resolve inline comments, and give outside collaborators access to specific matters. Permissions can be set at individual, team, department, organization, folder, and file levels, including time-limited access for outside counsel. Tasks can include deadlines, files, and comments; the calendar syncs with Outlook, Google Calendar, or an iCal feed. Documents can be imported from Google Drive and OneDrive. Analytics provide organization, team, and per-user views of matters, time, billing, and AI usage. PONS says documents are encrypted at rest, in transit, and at field level, with EU hosting by default or local hosting on request. The product is web-based, offers a free trial, and lists paid pricing as on request.
