| API authentication | The API requires an API key, with authentication and task-creation guides provided in the reference documentation. | Protected endpoints use bearer API keys, with separate API, billing and streaming servers. |
| Chrome extension | The free Hive AI Detector Chrome extension scans text, images, video and audio by right-click, pasted text or file upload without requiring login. | The public beta extension scans web images, video, audio and text and provides verdicts, confidence, rationale, heatmaps and scan history. |
| Company legal name | Hive’s current terms name Castle Global, Inc. as the company behind Hive services. | The terms identify the provider as Resemble AI, Inc. |
| Data retention | Hive’s default customer-data retention period is 14 days, with changes including zero retention available on request. | The maker says Zero Retention Mode permanently deletes submitted media after analysis and keeps it inaccessible to Resemble staff and systems. |
| Deployment | Hive states that on-premises deployment is available for its detection APIs. | Resemble Detect is available through cloud/API and can be deployed on-premises or in air-gapped environments. |
| Documentation depth | Getting-started documentation covers playgrounds, API keys, file formats, CSV uploads, callbacks, exports, model updates and account permissions. | Documentation includes quickstarts, request schemas, callbacks, polling, secure uploads, batch detection, streaming and response types. |

In their own words
Hive AI-Generated Content Detection
Hive AI-Generated Content Detection offers APIs and a Chrome extension for detecting AI-generated visual media, text, and audio. The image and video endpoint runs generation and deepfake models, returning confidence scores and, when identified, the synthesis source. Text results include an overall classification and confidence score, plus classifications and scores for each 2048-character segment. Audio is assessed in 10-second chunks, each labeled AI-generated or not AI-generated with a confidence score. Developers can integrate through REST endpoints that return JSON labels and scores, using documentation and code samples; on-premises deployment is available for the APIs. The free Chrome extension scans images, video, text, and audio in real time without a fee or Hive login. Hive recommends tuning confidence thresholds for each use case, with guidance suggesting 0.9 for AI-generated images and 0.9 on any frame for AI-generated video. Potential users include social platforms, insurers, expense tools, dating and gaming apps, and livestreaming services. Hive says its infrastructure is SOC 2 Type II compliant and supports TLS encryption in transit, SAML single sign-on, and configurable data retention. Customers own submitted and generated data and can request deletion through support.
