Hofmann
Hofmann lets customers make personalized photo books and other photo products using an app, an offline desktop editor or an online editor. The app can import images from a device gallery, Google Photos, Facebook, Instagram or Dropbox. Album customization includes layouts, text, backgrounds, masks, frames and stickers. Online projects can be saved to an account, and a named project can be set to save automatically every two minutes. Before ordering, the online editor can flag issues such as blank pages or missing spine text. Listed hardcover albums range from 24 to 120 pages, with extra-page charges that vary by album. The Apaisado S hardcover album is listed at €13.99, paid once; extra pages cost 0.87 EUR each and shipping is excluded. Other listed options include hardcover albums priced at €29.99, paid once and €48.99, paid once. The offline editor is available for Mac and Windows, alongside mobile and web access. Hofmann says it processes uploaded photos to create personalized products, and its help center covers delivery, orders, payments, product creation and accounts.
Journi
Journi turns photos into Photo Books, Calendars and Prints, using an AI designer to arrange selected images into a story-led layout. The AI can organize as many as 1,200 photos into a timeline. Photo Books support text, captions, fonts, themes, colors and maps. Journi Blog records experiences as timelines and maps, and those journals can become books. Journals may be private, restricted or public, with options to share them with collaborators. Journi supports photo access from Google Photos and backups to Google Drive and Dropbox, though images in shared Google Photos albums must first be downloaded to the device library. Journi Print and Journi Blog apps are free; Photo Books and Calendars are one-time purchases from $19.99. The service is available on Android, iOS, macOS and the web. Journi describes normal use as no more than 10 GB of uploaded data or 5,000 images per month. Premium Layflat books are limited to 103 pages and are unavailable in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
