In their own words
Holistics
Holistics is a cloud self-service analytics and business intelligence platform built around a programmable semantic layer. Business users can explore curated datasets and build reports with a drag-and-drop interface without SQL, or ask data questions in plain language and receive answers based on governed business definitions. Data teams can define models, metrics, and dashboards in code and version-control them with Git. Supported SQL sources include PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, SQL Server, MySQL, Presto, Athena, ClickHouse, MotherDuck, and Oracle; listed integrations also include dbt, Slack, Google Sheets, DataHub, and webhooks. Reports export as CSV, Excel, or PDF, with scheduled delivery through Email, Slack, Google Sheets, or SFTP. Holistics says it stores metadata and optional query-result cache that expires after a set period, not raw database data. It lists real-time refresh, row-level security, scheduled reports, and embedded analytics, and states GDPR and SOC 2 compliance. Entry costs $960 a month, or 800 USD per month with annual billing, for 100 reports and the first 10 users.
Sumboard
Sumboard is a low-code platform for embedding interactive, customer-facing analytics in B2B SaaS products. It connects to PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, MariaDB, MongoDB, and REST APIs. Dashboards support interactive filters, period comparisons, scheduled email reports, PDF and Excel exports, and white-label customization. The SDK installs from npm and supports simple embedding, token parameters, and application filters. Sumboard says token-based authentication limits each customer to its own data. It does not store customer data except cached information, removed when the cache timeout expires. Servers are hosted in Europe on OVH infrastructure; Sumboard says it inherits certifications and standards including ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 1, and SOC 2. Growth costs €199 a month and includes up to 10 embedded dashboards, unlimited viewers, up to 10,000 scheduled emails monthly, unlimited dashboards and data sources, and email support. Business costs €499 a month. A 30-day business-plan trial is available. Customer self-service dashboard building is planned, while teams can configure dashboards now.
