Overview

Holyrics covers a broad range of service material: song lyrics, Bible verses, text, images, audio, video, countdowns, alerts and stage-view content. It also supports multi-screen output, which makes it a practical option for events with distinct projection and stage-display needs.

The mobile app can access program data and control presentations. Cloud sync can carry program data and media files between computers, but leaves local settings behind. That helps teams share service content across machines without making their configurations identical.

Holyrics fits both Church Presentation Software and the broader Presentation software category.

Key features

Projection and media

Lyrics and Scripture sit alongside general text, images, audio, video, countdowns and alerts. Stage-view content and multi-screen output extend it beyond a single projected slide stream. The audio and video player supports VLC Media Player, a useful compatibility point for churches incorporating media into a service.

Mobile, cloud and Telegram

The phone app provides access to program data and presentation controls. Its stated privacy approach is that it does not store or collect personal data; camera access is used to read QR codes, and microphone access supports sending audio in chat.

Telegram integration includes questions, polls, draws, chat synchronization and chatbot-based file transfer. Direct chat transfers are capped at 20MB; larger files can be shared by Google Drive link. The feature set can support audience interaction and coordination, but the transfer cap matters when teams expect Telegram to carry larger media files.

Streaming and API

Holyrics works with streaming programs but does not stream directly. Churches will need a separate streaming program rather than treating Holyrics as an end-to-end broadcast tool. The Advanced plan adds an online API through which other applications can send HTTP requests to Holyrics over the internet, a more relevant benefit for teams connecting it to other software.

Pricing

Holyrics uses a freemium model. The free Holyrics plan is free, while the paid plans add larger computer and app allowances or extra content. The stated prices are monthly except for the iOS app purchase.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Holyrics	Free	Free plan
Basic	5.00 USD per month	Up to 3 computers and up to 30 apps
Advanced	10.00 USD per month	Up to 10 computers and up to 100 apps; includes the online API
Advanced + Worshipwide	25.00 USD per month	All Advanced benefits, full gallery and new Worshipwide packs
Holyrics iOS app	0.99 USD per once	iOS app

The free plan is the sensible starting point for a church assessing the core presentation workflow. Basic suits smaller teams that need paid access across no more than three computers and 30 apps. Advanced raises those allowances to 10 computers and 100 apps and is the tier to choose if the API matters. Advanced + Worshipwide is for teams that also want the full gallery and new packs; otherwise, its extra content is not a reason to pay more. The iOS app is a separate one-time purchase.

Platforms

The downloadable desktop program runs on Windows, Linux and Mac and requires Java 8; Java 9 does not work. That version constraint can complicate setup on a desktop that is already configured for a different Java release. Android and iOS apps are part of the platform mix, though the stated iOS app price is 0.99 USD per once.

Who it's for

Holyrics is a strong fit for churches that want worship projection, stage content, mobile control and audience-facing Telegram features in one workflow. Its sync can help when more than one computer needs the same program data and media. It is less suitable for churches seeking a standalone streaming solution, a complete sync of local machine settings, or a desktop setup that cannot accommodate Java 8.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad service content: lyrics, Scripture, media, countdowns, alerts and stage-view content cover more than song projection alone.
Control and sharing across devices: the mobile app controls presentations, while cloud sync shares program data and media between computers.
Useful interaction tools: Telegram supports questions, polls, draws and chat synchronization as well as file transfer.
Free entry point: the free plan lets churches start without a subscription.

Cons

Java 8 is required: Java 9 does not work, so desktop setup depends on using the compatible version.
Not a streaming tool: it must be paired with a compatible streaming program for broadcasts.
Sync has a boundary: local settings do not synchronize between computers.
Telegram transfer cap: direct chat files are limited to 20MB, with larger files requiring a Google Drive link.

Alternatives

VerseVIEW is worth choosing if a free option with no ads and support across Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows better matches the team's priorities.

WorshipTools Presenter is a fit for teams that want a free tier with 500 MB cloud storage, 10 users, 15 items per service, and unlimited services and songs.

Church Presenter suits readers seeking a free, no-subscription option with no seat limits and a GNU GPL v3 license.

DisplayWord offers a free Church plan with hall screen and Bible support, a song library and editor, PDF chord sheets, offline use, media and backgrounds; consider it when those are the priorities.

VerseCAST is a narrower alternative for Bible presentation, with a free plan whose demo limits slide count and functionality and a Monthly plan at 3.49 USD per month.

FreeShow is a free presentation option for teams that want software the maker says will always be free.

EasyWorship is a paid alternative with a free trial; its Basic plan is 17.50 USD per month, billed $210 billed yearly, with a campus license included and price varying by average weekly attendance.

Crown Cast is another free presentation option.

Verdict

Choose Holyrics if your church needs a wide range of worship presentation content, mobile control and Telegram interaction without paying to begin. Its strongest case is the breadth of the service workflow; look elsewhere if you need built-in streaming, unrestricted file transfer, complete settings sync or a desktop program without a Java 8 dependency.
