Overview

The platform covers the learning cycle from course creation through assessment, certification, and reporting. Trainers can run a white-label academy with their own brand and domain, while organisations can use UjuziPlus for onboarding, skills development, and compliance programmes. That breadth is useful when learning teams need to manage delivery and evidence of completion in one system; it is less compelling for buyers seeking only a course storefront or a single-purpose compliance tool.

Mobile-first design and low-bandwidth optimisation address practical access constraints. Local and international payments, including M-Pesa, support trainers selling courses to regional learners. UjuziPlus also connects with Zoom and common HR, ERP, and productivity systems.

Key features

The AI and standard course builders, quizzes, assessments, learning paths, and SCORM support cover custom material as well as packaged course content. Cohort scheduling, community spaces, assignment workflows, and progress tracking provide structure around a programme rather than just hosting lessons. Live classes with automatic recording support hybrid delivery, though buyers should value the combination of these workflows rather than expect one feature to define the product.

Compliance training is a particular strength: assessments and certificates can be paired with annual refreshes and downloadable reports for audits and donor reporting. Real-time dashboards, learning analytics, and progress tracking help managers follow participation and outcomes. The on-premise option may suit organisations with infrastructure, security, or regulatory requirements. UjuziPlus states that it uses encryption, secure servers, regular security audits, restricted authorised access, and continuous threat monitoring.

Pricing

The Creator plan is free to start at no cost. It includes a UjuziPlus subdomain, course builder with quizzes, marketplace selling, basic learner reporting, and up to 100 learners. That is a useful low-risk starting point for a small trainer or pilot, but the learner ceiling and basic reporting make it unsuitable for a larger programme.

Business costs 15000.00 KES per month, billed Ksh 15,000 / Month. It raises capacity to 300 active learners and adds unlimited courses and lessons, a custom domain, role-based access, compliance tracking, management-ready reports, and priority WhatsApp and email support. This is the practical fit for a growing organisation that needs operational controls and reporting; the 300-active-learner limit still matters for larger rollouts.

Institutional has custom pricing on an annual basis. It offers unlimited learners or custom tiers, full white-label, advanced analytics and audit trails, SSO, SLA, and optional private cloud or on-premise deployment, with an optional AI knowledge assistant. It is aimed at larger institutions or organisations with deployment and governance needs. UjuziPlus also offers a 14-day trial.

Platforms

UjuziPlus supports web, API, self-hosted, Android, and iOS. The mobile apps are listed as coming soon, so buyers who need learners to use native iOS or Android apps now should not treat those platforms as ready. Low-bandwidth optimisation is useful, but it does not replace app availability where that is a firm requirement.

Who it's for

UjuziPlus is designed for African corporates, SMEs, NGOs, universities, professional bodies, and SACCOs. It is especially suitable for organisations that need compliance evidence, recurring training, or a choice of hosted and on-premise deployment, and for trainers who want to sell under their own brand. Buyers who need capacity above 300 active learners should look at Institutional pricing; those who require live native mobile apps should wait or consider another platform.

Pros and cons

Pros: Compliance assessments, certificates, refreshes, and downloadable audit and donor reports serve organisations that must document training.
Pros: The free Creator tier supports marketplace selling and up to 100 learners, giving small programmes a usable starting point without a subscription.
Pros: White-label training, M-Pesa support, and low-bandwidth optimisation suit trainers and organisations serving regional audiences.
Cons: Creator's 100-learner cap and basic reporting constrain expansion, while Business tops out at 300 active learners.
Cons: iOS and Android apps are coming soon, not currently ready for teams that require native app access.

Alternatives

Choose Pathwright if its paid course platform better matches your requirements; it has a free plan and trial, supports Android, iOS, API, and web, and its Starter plan includes up to 1,000 members, one administrator, and one cohort per course for 99.00 USD per month. For a low-capacity free sandbox, Sublime LMS offers 50 active learners, two published courses, one admin or instructor, and 100 emails a month, with limited video and storage; UjuziPlus Creator instead allows up to 100 learners and marketplace selling.

Academy Launcher is another paid option with a free trial and Android, iOS, API, and web support; its maker is VibeThemes, the team behind WPLMS. NovoEd is a paid platform with custom pricing and a demo-request model. Build_it offers a free three-week applied programme with 48 lessons and 12 modules, rather than the organisational LMS offering described here. Cohorta is a free cohort platform with a 10% sales commission, one product, 50 learners, and 500 email messages per month. Nialtus has a free tier limited to 10 active learners, five courses, 1 GB of storage, one language, and one admin. Learnify is a freemium option for Android, iOS, and web.

Verdict

UjuziPlus is a sound choice for African organisations and trainers that need course delivery, live learning, and compliance reporting in one system, with M-Pesa support and an on-premise path for institutional requirements. Its main trade-offs are the learner caps on lower plans and mobile apps that are not yet available. Choose it for the integrated training and compliance workflow; look elsewhere if native apps are essential now or your programme exceeds Business capacity without an institutional budget.
