In their own words
Hookdeck Outpost
Hookdeck Outpost is outbound webhook infrastructure for platforms sending events to destinations selected by their users. Hookdeck offers a managed service, while the open-source version can run on infrastructure you manage. That version is licensed under Apache-2.0, written in Go, and distributed as a binary and Docker container. Outpost supports event topics, topic-based subscriptions, destination filters based on event content, tenant isolation, and fan-out to multiple destinations. Destinations include webhooks, AWS services, Google Pub/Sub, Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Cloudflare Queues, and Hookdeck Event Gateway. Delivery is at least once, so consumers should deduplicate events by event ID. Failed deliveries retry automatically with exponential backoff by default, with customizable schedules and manual retries through the Retry API, tenant portal, or Admin UI. It supports webhook signatures, Standard Webhooks compatibility, secret rotation, destination-failure alerts, optional automatic disabling of failed destinations, and OpenTelemetry metrics. Self-hosting is always free; managed Starter is $10 a month, and Growth is $499 a month.
Kiosk
Kiosk is a free, open-source PDF reader for web, desktop, mobile, and browser extensions. It renders PDFs and offers full-text search with highlighted results, page thumbnails, zoom, and light, dark, and night display modes. Its Chrome extension adds highlighting, underlining, strikethrough, drawing, shapes, and text annotations. The project says PDFs stay on the device, with no telemetry, cloud processing, or account requirement. Android works offline after installation, and the extension release notes also state that offline use is supported. The web app can run locally or be deployed through GitHub Pages as a self-hosted instance. Desktop apps can open PDFs directly and associate Kiosk with PDF files; the extension can intercept PDFs opened in Chrome. The extension supports Chrome 88+, Edge 88+, and Brave, but not Firefox or Safari. The project is released under the MIT License. Its Android release is an early alpha, and the macOS app is ad-hoc signed but not notarized, so Gatekeeper may warn on first launch.
