In their own words
Hookdeck Outpost
Hookdeck Outpost is outbound webhook infrastructure for platforms sending events to destinations selected by their users. Hookdeck offers a managed service, while the open-source version can run on infrastructure you manage. That version is licensed under Apache-2.0, written in Go, and distributed as a binary and Docker container. Outpost supports event topics, topic-based subscriptions, destination filters based on event content, tenant isolation, and fan-out to multiple destinations. Destinations include webhooks, AWS services, Google Pub/Sub, Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Cloudflare Queues, and Hookdeck Event Gateway. Delivery is at least once, so consumers should deduplicate events by event ID. Failed deliveries retry automatically with exponential backoff by default, with customizable schedules and manual retries through the Retry API, tenant portal, or Admin UI. It supports webhook signatures, Standard Webhooks compatibility, secret rotation, destination-failure alerts, optional automatic disabling of failed destinations, and OpenTelemetry metrics. Self-hosting is always free; managed Starter is $10 a month, and Growth is $499 a month.
Webhooker
Webhooker is an inbound webhook gateway that verifies, stores, and delivers events to your services. It accepts HTTP POST webhooks from providers including Stripe, GitHub, and Shopify, and can check each source using HMAC-SHA256 or SHA1 signatures; invalid signatures receive HTTP 401. For each destination, it makes six delivery attempts over about five hours, with failed events available for resending from a dead letter queue. You can transform payloads per destination, inject headers, and sign outbound requests. A live SSE event stream, delivery history, replay, and in-app or email failure alerts help track processing. Delivery is at least once, so your receiving services should account for duplicates. The cloud service says ingest, storage, and delivery run on Hetzner servers in Germany, with backups in EU data centers. Plans retain events for 14, 30, or 90 days, depending on plan; the data processing agreement is available on paid plans. The Free plan is free, and Pro is €29 a month. Webhooker also offers a CLI for Linux, macOS, and Windows and a Management API for dashboard operations over HTTP.
