Overview

Viesus combines image analysis with automated enhancement: its AI assesses technical image conditions and subject characteristics to guide processing. Tools cover noise and artifact removal, upscaling with face reconstruction, color, contrast, brightness and sharpness correction, automatic face cropping, and PDF enhancement. Viesus says its software processes tens of millions of images each day and is used by photo businesses of different sizes worldwide.

For businesses that need enhancements embedded in production rather than performed one image at a time, standalone tools, SDKs, an API and a cloud service provide several ways to build a workflow.

Key features

AI-guided corrections: Analysis informs noise and artifact removal, upscaling with face reconstruction, and adjustments to image color, contrast, brightness and sharpness. The combination suits repeatable enhancement; no manual retouching tools are described.
Face and PDF processing: Automatic face cropping can simplify image preparation, while PDF enhancement extends the workflow to documents. The PDF resolution ceiling rises from 300 dpi on Try-out to 600 dpi on Basic and 1,200 dpi on Business, making plan choice consequential for print-oriented work.
Unattended workflows: Command-line, batch, hot-folder and PDF enhancer tools support processing without manual intervention. SDKs and an API give developers integration options, backed by documentation, demo applications and professional technical support for SDK integrations.
Desktop, mobile and cloud delivery: Desktop SDKs support Windows, macOS and Linux. Mobile SDKs support iOS and Android with local offline processing; Viesus Cloud serves enhancements through a web app or API using GPU servers.
Formats and integrations: Supported formats include JPEG, TIFF and PDF. An image and PDF enhancement app is available for Enfocus Switch workflows, and a Zapier integration is live in beta for running enhancements within existing workflows.
Cloud data handling: Viesus Cloud terms say customer content and output are not used to train, develop or improve models or products without prior written consent. They are automatically deleted no later than 30 days after processing, or sooner if configured.

Pricing

Viesus uses credits, and AI image enhancement costs four credits per enhancement compared with one credit for traditional enhancement. That difference makes the headline monthly allowance a poor guide to AI volume: Basic's 400 credits, for example, cover at most 100 AI enhancements if spent entirely on them.

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes
Try-out	Free; billed for a lifetime	50 credits, AI upscaling and AI face reconstruction, AI artifacts removal, full API access, and PDF up to 300 dpi.
Basic	10.00 USD per month; billed /month	400 credits/month, 200-credit top-ups for $5.00, roll-over credits, and PDF up to 600 dpi.
Business	90.00 USD per month; billed /month	5,000 credits/month, auto top-up of 2,500 credits for $33.00, roll-over credits, fastest processing, and PDF up to 1,200 dpi.
Enterprise	Custom pricing; reach out for a quote	Custom credit amount and premium support.

Try-out is useful for a small amount of evaluation, but its 50-credit lifetime pool is quickly consumed by AI work: it covers 12 AI enhancements with two credits left. Basic fits lower-volume recurring use, with roll-over credits and paid top-ups offering some flexibility. Business is for heavier throughput or higher-resolution PDFs; it adds faster processing and automatic top-ups, but costs substantially more. Enterprise is the route for custom volume and premium support.

A separate Viesus Viewer standalone trial license is activated for 20 days. The free Try-out plan is a distinct offer, not a 20-day credit allowance.

Platforms

Viesus supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, Windows, API and self-hosted deployments. The mobile SDKs' offline processing is useful where connectivity is limited; cloud processing instead uses GPU servers. The range spans users who want a web app and teams that need SDK or API integration.

Who it's for

Viesus is strongest for photo businesses and other teams that process substantial image volumes, especially when batch or unattended operation matters. Developers can choose desktop or mobile SDKs, API access or self-hosting, while businesses with document workflows can use PDF enhancement and the Enfocus Switch integration. It is less suited to someone who wants occasional, manually directed edits or needs a large free allowance: Try-out is capped at 50 lifetime credits.

Pros and cons

Pro: Multiple automation routes. Batch and hot-folder tools, command-line operation, SDKs and an API can fit different production setups.
Pro: Offline mobile SDKs. iOS and Android processing can run locally rather than depending on a cloud connection.
Pro: Credit roll-over on paid tiers. Basic and Business allow unused monthly credits to carry forward.
Con: AI work draws credits quickly. At four credits per AI enhancement, the 50-credit Try-out pool allows only 12 such enhancements, and monthly plans support fewer AI jobs than their raw credit counts suggest.
Con: PDF resolution is tiered. Try-out tops out at 300 dpi and Basic at 600 dpi, so higher-resolution PDF work requires Business.

Alternatives

Cutout.Pro is worth comparing if a lower-cost entry subscription is the priority: its listed plan starts at 5.00 USD per month for 80 credits, though Viesus offers workflow tools and PDF enhancement.
PhotoBoost is an option for someone seeking core editing tools with a small cloud trial: its free plan includes two introductory credits and output up to 3 MP, rather than Viesus's 50-credit Try-out.
PhotoApp may suit users who want a general-purpose app with its main features free to use; Viesus is the more workflow-oriented choice.
YouCam Perfect is an alternative for Android and iOS users looking for free tools and templates, with advanced AI features and removal of usage limits reserved for Premium.
Palette is another option for web, Windows and API users comparing image enhancement plans.
HueFold is an alternative for Android and web users.
IObit Uninstaller is a Windows uninstaller, not an image-enhancement alternative.
VanceAI Image Enhancer is another API, macOS, web and Windows image enhancer to compare against Viesus.

Verdict

Choose Viesus if your photo or production business needs automated enhancement at scale, particularly through batch processing, SDKs, API access or offline mobile integration. Its strongest case is the combination of image and PDF processing with several deployment paths. Look elsewhere if you need extensive AI volume on a low-cost plan or higher-resolution PDFs without moving to Business: AI work consumes credits four times as fast as traditional enhancement, and PDF limits vary sharply by tier.
