In their own words
Hypar
Hypar is space-planning software for architects and engineers testing layouts against a client's program and site. Users plan spaces in 3D and track net and gross areas, counts, and progress against targets. Programs can be brought in from spreadsheets or dRofus; site underlays can include DXF or DWG files, images, PDFs, or laser scans. Exports include PDF, images, Excel, Revit, and Rhino. Teammates can edit projects in real time, and the Revit add-in supports versions 2020 through 2027 and is included with free accounts. AI features suggest furniture and equipment. Beta chat can create space programs, count elements, make analytical views, and edit models, but whole-plan layout is rated low proficiency. Hypar does not support curved spaces or standalone walls, and walls are tied to spaces. The free Personal plan allows three owned projects and is for evaluation and learning, not professional design-project work. Professional costs $100 a month per user when billed monthly, or 1000 USD per year per user when billed annually.
VisualARQ
VisualARQ is architectural BIM software for Rhino 7 and 8, turning freeform geometry into BIM objects and supporting custom parametric objects. Its tools include walls, curtain walls, doors, windows, beams, columns, stairs, railings, slabs and roofs. It generates linked 2D plans, sections and elevations, real-time vector drawings, and dynamic quantity take-off reports that can be exported to Excel. The software supports IFC 2×3 and IFC 4 exchange and DWG export of page layouts. Grasshopper components and a RhinoCommon API support development with C#, VB.NET or Python. It also works with Rhino-compatible render engines including V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion and Twinmotion. VisualARQ works in Rhino for Windows only; the maker says there is no Mac version. Licenses are permanent, have no subscription fees and include free updates within the same major version. A fully functional 90-day evaluation is available, after which some features are disabled. Floating licenses use Cloud Zoo or Rhino Zoo.
