In their own words

ICEcoder

ICEcoder is a browser-based code editor for building, testing, and maintaining websites. It runs online or offline and is accessed through a modern browser on an internet-enabled computer. Editing tools include live editing, multiple selections, code assist, code folding, bracket matching, and automatic indentation. Its find-and-replace builder searches current or open documents, files, and filenames using plain text or regular expressions. ICEcoder requires an Apache or similar web server and PHP 7.0 or newer. The manual lists Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Internet Explorer 11 or newer. Downloads are offered through Git, Docker, Composer, Bash, ZIP, and EXE formats. Built-in tools include terminal, database, and Git management. Users can install plugins or create custom ones with web languages, though plugin installation requires ZipArchive enabled on the server. It supports multiple users, but provides no security isolation between them and is intended for trusted developer teams. The IDE framework is MIT licensed; some components have separate licenses. Its free plan costs nothing.

Visual Studio Code

Visual Studio Code is an open-source code editor with AI-assisted development features for macOS, Linux, Windows, and the web. It offers inline AI suggestions and intelligent completions, and its agent workflows can plan tasks, change code, run commands, and iterate. Users can switch between agent work and direct coding in the same editor. Agent workflows work with Copilot and third-party providers, and users can supply their own model key. The editor includes JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML support; extensions add support for other languages. Its Marketplace lists more than 80,000 extensions. Built-in tools include Git source control, an integrated terminal, code running and debugging, build tasks, and local history. It connects to GitHub Codespaces and remote development environments, while Settings Sync and profiles help carry and organize customizations. The browser version has a limited execution environment. VS Code is free for private or commercial use at free. A GitHub account is required to start building with AI agents.
