In their own words
ifolor
ifolor offers personalised photo products, including photo books, calendars, greeting cards, wall decorations, digital photos, and photo gifts. Its Designer software and apps provide templates and tools for arranging photos and text, and let customers save projects for later. The Windows Designer also supports saving personal templates. A Photo Book Deluxe can have 26 to 132 pages, while Premium Photo Paper books use 340 gsm real photo paper and lay-flat binding, in matte or glossy finishes. Customers can order a book as an EPUB eBook, but it cannot be edited and its email download link lasts 30 days. The service supports Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and web; the listed app requirements include macOS 13, iOS 14.4, and Android 6.0. Projects cannot move between the desktop Designer and mobile app during creation, and PDFs cannot be imported into photo books. ifolor says uploaded image files are not sold or used for marketing profiles, facial recognition, identification, automated individual decisions, or AI training. It also says website and photo storage use Microsoft Azure European servers and describes safeguards against loss, manipulation, destruction, and unauthorized access.
Journi
Journi turns photos into Photo Books, Calendars and Prints, using an AI designer to arrange selected images into a story-led layout. The AI can organize as many as 1,200 photos into a timeline. Photo Books support text, captions, fonts, themes, colors and maps. Journi Blog records experiences as timelines and maps, and those journals can become books. Journals may be private, restricted or public, with options to share them with collaborators. Journi supports photo access from Google Photos and backups to Google Drive and Dropbox, though images in shared Google Photos albums must first be downloaded to the device library. Journi Print and Journi Blog apps are free; Photo Books and Calendars are one-time purchases from $19.99. The service is available on Android, iOS, macOS and the web. Journi describes normal use as no more than 10 GB of uploaded data or 5,000 images per month. Premium Layflat books are limited to 103 pages and are unavailable in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
