In their own words
ikiwiki
ikiwiki is free, open-source software that compiles wiki pages into HTML for publication as a website. It builds a static site and regenerates pages when their source changes. Page history can be kept in Git, Subversion, or another revision-control setup, although a revision system is optional. Markdown is the default markup, while plugins can add WikiText, HTML, reStructuredText, and Textile. Any page can function as a blog and produce RSS or Atom feeds. Plugins provide much of the system, including markup, directives, revision-control backends, and CGI capabilities. Templates, CSS, and themes control generated appearance. Optional web editing supports registration, several authentication methods, and configurable edit permissions. Xapian can add full-text search. Packages are listed for Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, BSD, openSUSE, Arch, Homebrew, and Guix. ikiwiki supports Linux, macOS, self-hosting, and web use, with custom domains, SSO, and version history listed.
Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware
Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware is free, open-source web software that combines wiki, content management, and collaboration tools. Users can create pages with wiki syntax, HTML, a WYSIWYG editor, or Markdown; pages support revision history, categories, tags, structures, and detailed permissions. The system also includes articles, blogs, forums, file galleries, trackers, newsletters, surveys, calendars, and chat. Trackers collect structured information through forms and can turn it into reports or other displays. File galleries support sharing, previous versions, WebDAV, and search within files. Tiki is self-hosted and can be downloaded as a release archive or obtained through third-party installation methods; managed hosting is offered through TikiHosting.com. It lists editorial workflows, custom roles and content types, multilingual content, SEO tools, and a media library. The interface has translations at varying levels of completeness for 54 languages. Tiki documents security controls and recommends keeping installations updated, checking permissions, using strong passwords, and backing up installations. BigBlueButton integration requires an accessible server and shared secret.
