Overview

Imonggo pairs checkout with inventory management, sales reporting and customer management, rather than focusing on transactions alone. That makes it a sensible starting point for retailers who want a broader operating system without an initial subscription. Its free tier has real constraints, however, and the product-count and transaction limits differ across the stated plan terms; businesses approaching either cap should confirm which applies to their account before relying on it.

Key features

Offline selling is one of Imonggo’s clearest practical strengths: Imonggo Store can continue taking sales during temporary internet interruptions, then sync those sales after reconnection. This is useful for shops where a connection drop should not halt checkout, though the offline capability is described for temporary interruptions rather than as a replacement for reliable connectivity.

Retail hardware support includes plug-and-play receipt printers, barcode scanners and compatible magnetic card readers. Tax configuration covers inclusive or exclusive taxes, single or multiple taxes, and rules set by branch or item, with local, state or provincial, and federal rates. That range is valuable to retailers handling varied products or locations with different tax treatment.

Premium adds data import and export, customer loyalty, layaway, credit-card processing and daily sales emails. Credit-card processing integrates with Authorize.net; PayPal and partner-service integrations are also mentioned. The REST API uses GET, PUT, POST and DELETE and exchanges XML, but access requires Premium or a trial subscription. Its 500-request-per-hour account limit can constrain integrations with frequent calls; exceeding it results in 503 responses. More importantly, the API does not separate user roles, so anyone holding the API token can access the full API. That is a material access-control weakness for businesses distributing credentials across teams or systems.

Imonggo says passwords are encrypted, card numbers and verification codes are not stored, and Premium card processing uses 128-bit SSL encryption. It also states support for GDPR obligations, including data-subject rights and breach notification. Free-account personal data may be retained for up to 180 days after inactivity or termination, compared with up to three years for Premium accounts.

Pricing

The Free plan is free and can be used indefinitely without obligations. Its stated allowance is one user, one branch, 30 products and 300 invoices per month. Another stated version of the free limits gives one user, one branch, 1,000 products and 1,000 transaction lines per month, while separate terms set fewer than 1,000 lifetime products and fewer than 1,000 monthly transaction lines. Those conflicting caps make Free most appropriate for a small shop willing to verify its applicable limits, not a retailer planning around predictable growth.

Premium costs 30.00 USD per month, billed monthly through a connected PayPal account, and the price is per branch. It provides unlimited users, products and transactions, with multiple branches supported; each subscription applies to one branch. This is the more capable fit for a growing team, but multi-branch operators should account for a subscription per branch.

Monthly Premium is 45.00 USD per month and Annual Premium is 450.00 USD per year. Both include unlimited users, products, invoices and report history, and multiple branches; the annual option states a $90.00 saving. Premium also has a 30-day trial that requires no PayPal account or credit card, and users can return to the free plan afterward. No refund policy is stated.

Platforms

Imonggo supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows and web, and works on tablets, laptops, desktops and mobile phones. Browser use requires a current version of Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari or Firefox, with JavaScript and cookies enabled. API access is available on Premium or trial subscriptions.

Who it's for

Imonggo is a reasonable fit for new and growing small or mid-sized retailers that want stock management, reporting and customer tools alongside point of sale, especially if offline checkout matters. Free can help a single-branch shop get started, while Premium adds room for larger teams and more product and transaction volume. Retailers that need clear, consistent free-tier capacity or role-specific API permissions should look elsewhere or resolve those constraints before adopting it.

Pros and cons

Pros: Offline selling can keep checkout running through temporary internet interruptions and sync afterward.
Pros: Flexible tax rules by branch or item suit retailers with varied products or locations.
Pros: The free plan has no stated time limit, and the Premium trial requires no card or PayPal account.
Cons: Free-plan product and transaction limits conflict, making capacity harder to plan around.
Cons: Premium is priced per branch, so a multi-location retailer may need multiple subscriptions.
Cons: API tokens grant full API access without user-role distinctions, creating a credential-control concern.

Alternatives

Loyverse is worth considering if you want a free POS with a stated 31 days of sales history and a $5.00 USD per month option for unlimited history; it supports Android, iOS, API and web. Choose Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service if you prefer a paid retail system and are prepared to request a demo rather than select from public prices. Cegid Retail is another paid option with Android, API, iOS, self-hosted, web and Windows support; pricing requires a demo request.

GoFrugal Retail may suit retailers who want a paid product with a free trial; its retail ERP starting price is 75, while individual plan prices are not given. Erply is a paid alternative with a stated Growth Plan at 1000.00 USD per month for three stores, unlimited users and 100,000 queries per month. RetailPOS is the alternative to consider if self-hosted, open-source software with no monthly fees is the priority; it is free and available under Apache 2.0.

GoDaddy POS offers a free plan capped at 10 products and a Point of Sale Plus plan at 28.99 USD per month with an annual plan, making it a lower-cost option for a small catalog. Biyo POS has a free Premium + Processing plan for US businesses, with processing fees, as well as a paid Standard plan.

Verdict

Choose Imonggo if you run a small or growing retail operation that wants inventory, reporting and customer management with checkout that can continue during brief internet outages. Its lasting free option and no-card trial lower the barrier to getting started, but the inconsistent free-tier caps, per-branch Premium billing and unrestricted API-token access are meaningful reasons to compare alternatives before committing.
